Any PL Newbies?

Hmm, so the discussion about the blogging gave me an idea. Thinking about copying and pasting my blog entries and printing them to include in my PL.

I'm a newbie to Project Life. I did an all digital P365 in 2010 but really haven't scrapped anything since I finished that. I started as a paper scrapper 12 years ago but about 6 years ago switched completely to digital. I was also stamping so I still kept a huge paper stash. Last year I didn't do anything creative and I didn't even have the urge to either. The last couple of weeks I started getting the itch to do stuff and happened to read about Project Life on Gina Miller's blog at the same time. I thought it would be a great way to DO SOMETHING with my pictures and use my paper supplies but keep it simple at the same time. I started getting really excited and decided to do P365 again. I'm not planning on buying any of the core kit stuff since I already own SO MUCH paper. I'm starting with a binder, some page protectors and the 3x4 grid cards. As time goes on I may end up buying more. I will probably add some digital touches to the journaling cards, especially since I really don't like my handwriting.

On Sunday I edited my week one pics. Winkflash is doing 6 cent prints so I went ahead and ordered all my 2011 pics at the same time. I was thinking how sad it was that they would get put away with all the other years and years of photos that I still have to put in albums. As I was falling asleep Sunday night it just came to me (kind of what Becky Higgins and others have been saying all along) that when those 2011 pics arrive I could get those into a PL album NOW, they don't have to just sit there waiting for me to catch up!! A total light bulb moment. So that's when I decided I would do that as well.

I'm not really happy with either of my digital cameras right now. They've gotten a bit beat up from age and dragging them all over for P365 in 2010. But I just got an iphone 4S and the camera is really quite good (you may have heard that already) ;). So that's my camera now, and it's always on me anyway so it's perfect. I think it's werid that the iphone takes 4 1/2 x 6 photos. What's up with that??? I'm just going to have to keep that in mind as I take the pics. I'm trying to take mostly landscape orientation pics, because I may just use style A pages in the P365 album. I'm going to experiment with instagram and hipstamatic shots too. I definitely want to journal more this time around.

I just decided today to hop on the bandwagon. I'm with you about not wanting to spend a lot of money until I'm sure that I will stick with it. I bought the Becky Higgins Core Kit in Cobalt, four sets of page protectors from Amazon. I'm so anxious for it to get here. My plan is to write down things through the week and then put it all together on the weekends.

Hi i'm a newbie :) I'm going all digital (I moved and all my crafty goodness is in storage) but I'm also a packrat so I figured after I print I will add a cute little printed or glassine envelope for fun mementos I collected throughout the year.

I'm new to PL, too. I just ordered my page protectors from Singapore, and I'm paying TWENTY SEVEN US DOLLARS just for shipping. Does anybody else want to DIE at that?? I just couldn't wait until they restocked in February and then for our next tourist to bring it out in March! So I bit the bullet and bought them with my Christmas money.

I CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED! I bought Sara & Sabrina's journaling cards, and I'm going to print those out onto cardstock and have my pictures printed each week. I really love having pictures printed. : ) I'm so excited about the possibilities!

I have no intention of trying to take a photo a day or doing a spread each week. I'm goign to keep taking the photos I would normally take and then put them in the page protectors with stories as needed. I'm going to do the 12x6 style to tell stories or for fun sized layouts or just for pictures...who knows?! I feel so much freedom, like I can scrap whatever inspires me without worrying about not telling all my stories!

I'm a PL newbie and am doing it all digital... part of the reason for doing it digital is that I prefer 8x8 instead of 12x12... and since I bought practically all of this month's BYOC, I want to make sure I get to use it all LOL

I posted my story yesterday but just got the chance to go through and read all the other posts. I think it's great that we are all doing this and how differently we are using the various pieces or even just the concept. I'm really looking forward to seeing what we all come up with and I hope we'll all share our stuff!!

Now that the signature albums are in stock I finally got to place an order! With my trial amazon prime membership I got free 2-day shipping so my binder and 2 kinds of plastics are supposed to be here tomorrow. AND my winkflash photos should all be here tomorrow too... I can't wait to get started!!! What I'm really dying for is the 3x4 grid cards so I'll probably write notes on 3x4 scrap and use that as placeholders til the real thing arrives.

I'm going to try a digital PL. I bought W&W 8.5x11 templates and will do a double page spread for each wk. I'm going to put my pages in page protectors in a binder.

I was thinking about doing 12x12 digital layouts printed as pages, but then getting the small pockets to put ephemera in. I have so much that I've collected and I really don't feel like scanning it all in to use on layouts. BUT being in a box isn't useful at all lol. Has anyone done this? Does it work or is it really messy looking?

Are the becky higgens binders the ones you guys use? They seem a little expensive to me for just a binder (but maybe they are amazing?!)? Page protectors too? Especially the 12 x 12 because those are what I'll be buying the most of... I just want to spend my money on the best choice now, instead of going back and having to repurchase :)
