One year for our anniversary, my husband and I did an overnight trip on an old train. My husband likes trains so it was more of a thing for him. It had a nice dinner and a dinner theater production as well. The accommodations were authentic so not the best nights sleep, and the walls were thin so you could hear everything.

It was interesting to say the least. I’m glad we did it, because it was different, but will never do that again.

Hmmm... That's an interesting idea. I will follow your idea... I always wanted to visit Key West because of the chill vibe I always heard about it, so my hubby and I went there about 8 years ago with two other couples. I liked it, but it wasn't what I was expecting. It was too similar to any other Florida beach town and everything was insanely expensive, so while I'm glad we went, I won't go again.

Be a sucker and fall for the "One Room Schoolhouse" in St. Augustine, Fla. It was the one thing on our trip that was ridiculous!! Waste of time and money- it was one room alright, but definitely not like a schoolhouse of the past. Shouldn't be charging to see it.

Ride a roller coaster going backwards.

I don't like heights. Never had. Or drops (my tummy has never liked them). But it didn't keep me from riding roller coasters.

Once some friends and I were at Six Flags Magic Mountain and the Colossus coaster was at the time the largest wooden frame coaster in the States. It was really cool. This day you had the choice of going forwards or backwards, so of course we chose backwards. Because, why not?

My poor friend who sat next to me. I screamed bloody murder the entire ride because I never knew if the drop we were starting was short or long. And I also had a death grip on his arm. I think I actually bruised it. And he also couldn't hear out of his ear for a while. LOL!

Here's a vintage youtube video from the 1980s when we rode it, just to give you an idea of what it was like.

To this day I hate going backwards on rides!

Jay's family went camping at a place in Florida called Ichetucknee Springs. When Jay, Olivia, and I started going with them, they had just built primitive cabins with concrete floors but they did have a window unit to keep the cabin cool which was fantastic. There were two double beds and a small table and chairs. There was a communal bathroom for the cabins and the campsites/tent spots. The bathroom was not to my level of cleanliness, even though I saw them clean them every day with bleach and a pressure washer. The large fan at the top of the building didn't work through any of the years we went, so it was just a swamp in that bathroom. Ugh. Even when you took a shower, you felt yucky.

We went there to go tubing on the Ichetucknee River and to also swim in a natural spring called the Blue Hole. To get in the tubes at the launch site, you basically had to jump off a pier into your tube. So you just flipped over immediately into ice cold water. It was a beautiful and fun trip down the river, and we had many adventures where we laughed so hard! The Blue Hole is so gorgeous and it was one of my favorite spots. There was also a nearby town that I can't recall the name of, but there were lots of antique shops so we always headed out to go to a little diner that was super cute, and then we'd shop.

The last time we went, Daniel was 2 or 3? The family is planning on going camping again sometime this year, but I've already RSVP'd a big fat NO. My physical limitations these days will keep me from enjoying it. Theresa, Jay's sister, is the one who planned everything and she was my buddy. Now that she is gone, I really don't want to go because it will be so sad without her.

I've learned to never say never, but it's highly likely I will never go there again.

Fly more than 7 hours!!! It was that far to Germany when we went to the Frankfort Auto Show and spent 2 weeks in the area. It was fun, but that stretched every ounce of "flying ability" that I had in me.

DIY blowing insulation into an attic. I didn't even have the hard part. DH was up in the attic doing the distribution, while DS and I were down in the garage loading the machine. It was almost 12 years ago, and I still have never been more physically exhausted in my entire life than I was that day! I documented the before here and the during here. :)

take a Vicodin and have champagne , then watch wizard of oz... them scary monkeys....

There are also things we'll never do again, not because we disliked them but because it's no longer the right time or we had enough. I loved all of the following but will never do them again.

be pregnant
give birth
raise babies
homeschool my kids (they're adults now, or nearly so)
talk to my Mom (she died last March)
drive cars around in the dirt with my brother in our backyard, and other imaginative games

:love

I ate crocodile meat on safari one time.
Never have a need to try that again. It's nothing like chicken.
I had alligator tail that they made into "popcorn" like "Popcorn shrimp".. it was little breaded nuggets that were deep fried and that did taste like chicken.. I don't know if I would do more that that though.. LOL

Oysters are that for me.. slimey ich.. HOWEVER the only way I will eat them is as Oysters Rockefeller :) I will not eat raw or fried just Rockefeller :)

I lived about 2 1/2 hours away from my parents for about a decade, and it was rough. It would likely have been different if other members of my family also lived other places but everyone in my immediate family, except for me, lived/lives in my hometown. I already felt like the black sheep, and it was just made worse by missing all the ordinary weekday things you can't do when you're that far away.

[I can now make it to their house in 9 minutes door-to-door.]
