File this under 'random' (much like 99.9% of my other thoughts) but y'know when they do those special interest kinda news stories on 'local man has reached 109!' and journalist talks to them while there's someone trying to cut the big sheet cake into enough pieces for everyone, and they ask them 'what do you put your health and longevity down to? any secrets or advice?', how would you answer that question?
Is there anything you specifically do, use or consume that is something you do for your health - mental, physical or otherwise? What's your apple a day that keeps the doctor away (hand sanitiser and face masks aside)?

i think mine is drinking plenty of water, no matter whatever else is going on, i think that's my thing

making choices that involve movement, like parking further away, in addition to walking at least a mile most days AND always trying to include plant foods in my meals

I try to get at least 10,000 steps a day. I bought a standing desk for work so that even with the added computer time this year, I don't have to sit. I park at the far end of the parking lot as well, and keep my water bottle full all day.

great idea re: standing desk! i do sometimes think a treadmill desk would be so good but i figure half my leg work is intermittent squats when i sit down for a split second to do something at the computer, before i then have to get up and do or find something etc - and also i've seen enough treadmill accidents, not so many scrapping ones but i think if i had a treadmill desk there'd probably be a steep incline in the number of scrapping accidents...

I try to get plenty of rest and I don’t worry - at least not very much. I try to live a more relaxed and less stressful life!

2l of water every day.
I try and get 8 hours of sleep. Hubby's snoring not withstanding.
I know that I need to go low carb again, and do extra flexibility exercises, but I am not actually doing that yet...

I am NOT one to ask this question. :giggle I do all the wrong things. So I'll just take notes from you guys! lol!

I was expecting at least one person to say they scrap regularly for mental health, maybe that was a given?! Or I'll pretend you said that ; -)

Okay - I'll bite - I scrap regularly for my mental health. Actually, if I DON'T get to scrap regularly - everybody else's mental health suffers. :rollinThat's my story and I'm sticking to it! I have everybody convinced that that's why I'm doing it - it's for THEIR good!!!

Okay, back to the apple a day - we just found an awesome new doctor and he told us about Metamucil cookies - I can't prove this yet, but they're like eating 5 apples. He was telling us that we don't get near enough fiber in our diets. That, and I drink a LOT of water!!

lol yep it's for my own and therefore others mental health as well; and yep he's right about fibre - i never thought about adding Metamucil to baking but then i guess it's mostly psyllium husk and i've added psyillium and LSA (?linseed, sunflower, almond ) to carrot cake and such before (it hides well in small-ish doses but too much with like dates or apple sauce in brownies can have a laxative effect) - it would have to beat drinking it though!

I haven't thought of scrapping being for my mental health much -- my primary reason is that I've always been compelled to record my life -- but it has had that as a bonus effect a number of times. :love

oh yeah! I can say that one! I’ll make it more general to say I have to have creative time for everyone’s mental health! Yay! I do one good thing.

Physical activity & eating fruits and veggies are what help me and come pretty easy for me.

I need to work on getting more sleep and drinking more water (less coffee).
