American Idol....let's talk

Anyone else still watching?

I am kind of loving this season, there isn't anyone that I really don't like. The judges are all kinds of crazy and all over the place and slightly schizophrenic from week to week.

Last night, I loved Philip Phillips (however you spell his name!).
Elise and Skylar have kind of won me over.

I don't think Jessica deserved to be in the bottom last week, but I think that the judges constant over the top praise of her might be working against her.

I will be curious to see who goes home tonight.

I agree about Jessica. She's a good singer, but she's not connecting with the audience. I think the judges went WAY overboard on the save gushing all over her.

I love Skylar and am really pulling for her to win. She reminds me of the fiery Miranda Lambert who I adore as a powerful female singer.

I also like Phillip, Colton and Elise. Elise would sing the kind of music I like, but I doubt she'll make it much further.
 
I really love Colton, Phillip and Skylar...they would be the type of music I would buy after the competition is over.

I can't stand Joshua...I'm sure I'm the minority there though because the judges LOVE him and I can't stand how much they gush over him. His voice is just not my cup of tea and he's way too over the top for me.

I really wanted to love Elise, but as the competition has gone on, she's gotten a little boring for me. I was pulling for her at the beginning though!

And I totally agree with you guys about Jessica!
 
Yes...that is exactly how I feel about Joshua. He's boring, not mainstream and gets too much praise from the judges.
 
My friends and I at work want Elise to go. And started out as Jessica fans but she is losing us. I personally love Colton and Skylar. They also love Phil and Joshua. Joshua does not really do it for me either. I think Hollie did well last night, but wonder how long she will stay in too.
 
I love Phillip...plus he is from DH's hometown so we have been rooting for him since auditions :) I also really like Skylar and Colton.

For the longest time I have felt like I am the only one who just doesn't like Jessica...don't get me wrong she is an amazing singer, but I have yet to really hear who she is as an artist and singer.
 
I love Phillip, and I'm totally NOT a country music fan, but my dh and I just LOVE Skylar. She's quite the performer and I would totally go to her concert!

Jessica is an amazing singer and I think she has the potential to be a huge mega star someday...once she has music for her, looks a little bit older than 12, and connects with the audience.

I love to hear Joshua sing...I think he's amazing, but I can't see me buying his music.

We really don't care for Colton here. Not our kind of music.

Elise sings really well...just not feeling her much.
 
are 2 going home tonight? that's what i thought, but then one of the judges said something last night that made me think otherwise.
i agree, i think all the singers have great talent. but my favorites are colton, phil and skylar. my least favorites are jessica and joshua. last week, i was not shocked at all to see jessica in the bottom. LOL maybe it is because of the judges overkill. LOL i have noticed the girls all seem to be VERY LOUD singers. hahahaha strong voices there. all of them. however skylar is still my fave of the girls. colton and phil have held my heart from the very beginning. <3
 
Totally agree with what has been said about Joshua and Jessica. Elise is my favorite, I really liked her but when she sang Led Zepplin a few weeks ago that nailed it for me. I do like Philip, but after a while he just sounds the same all the time and I could not see myself listening to a whole album of his.
 
I just love to watch Philip sing. he just seems so happy and I don't know....I just like him...a LOT :)

Has anyone watched tonight yet? I am sad...
 
Yeah...just watched it. I thought he had a bad night the other night. His song choice tonight had me in tears though!
 
Yea, I was really upset last night. I'm not going to name my favorites here (though I agree with mostly everything that's been said - especially about the 2 who have been over-praised) so I don't spoil it - but the one who was voted off last night was in my top 3.
 
just curious...do any of you ladies vote? I think there was one season that I voted...since then I don't. I just wonder who it is that does all the voting. Do you think it's the preteen age girls?
 
I vote! But probably because this is the first season we are watching in the states so the first season that I can vote. I am really loving this season and pretty much agree with what everyone else is saying. Except for skylar...I just cannot stand her honestly, but I know I am in the minority about her so she may go far. My favorite though is Phillip. He is so dreamy :wub
 
Yes, I vote...not too much...but I do vote a handful of times for my favs.
 
I think the main reason I never vote is because I don't watch it in real time. Sometimes it's hours later if I work late...or even the next day if I don't have time.
