OMG. I'm dieing today. My nose is running no, i take that back, waterfalling (? lol) and i can't go 45 seconds without sneezing.

i do usually do over the counter Loratadine but i really want to figure out what is triggering my allergies. i have different symptoms on different days. some days it's like today INSANE nose functions, lol. other days sore throat and coughing, and other days my eyes are stinging and itching and burning. are all my different symptoms clue that i have multiple allergies??? i just checked my area today for outdoor - tree, grass, and weed pollen and none of them are high...

doesn't matter if they're high .. if you're allergic you're allergic you're allergic.. LOL the super high levels just mean you're also pretty much dead those days.

I don't see much of a point as an adult getting an allergy test for out door allergens. There's pretty much nothing you can do to avoid.. grass. It's not like not eating peaches.. kwim. If you have asthma, inhaler + allergy meds.. and that's as good as it's going to get. I'm on singulair and have an inhaler.. and still die regularly :p This year with all the extra oompfh to summer has been pretty brutal for allergies.

idk i've seen a lot of adults really helped w/ testing and a good plan of attack for those outdoor allergies... even so far as to get desensitized to live a relatively medicine & allergy-free life.

My husband always has bad allergies and aasthma like symptoms... finally this year I made sure he got it checked out by a doctor (he's been resisting!) and the doctor has started him on a few different things-- they seem to be helping. All that to say-- get it checked out! Your doctor may be able to help you. Life is no fun if your allergies are making you miserable!

I just take Allegra D every.single.day!! I have to get it at the pharmacy...they have it behind the counter here and you are only allowed to buy a certain amount at a time. I get the 12 hour because the 24 hour keeps me from sleeping. I just deal with it. I don't want to go through all the testing because I know it's probably my cats, and they're staying! LOL!

Some of the best food testing things I've done for my boys were very very expensive, and not usually covered by any insurance. They've been the Voll and Vega meters. It's hard to find someone that uses them too...but oh wow...they are so right on!!

This has been a bad spring-summer season for me. I had to start taking my Flonase again regularly again to keep it under control. I've tried Zyrtek and Clariten (over and over) and while the stuff does help, it also makes me spacier and dangerous on the road. Not good. Antihistamines have always had an exaggerated effect on me. Interestingly, when I took a skin test about fiteen years ago I was incredibly sensitive to ragweed and other plants. And cats. And dogs. But at least dogs don't give me asthma reactions.

I've done the testing twice. Years ago it was scratches along your back that were horribly itchy and near impossible to handle. My second round was three years ago and involved pin*****s on my arm, and were totally bearable. Both times I did it because OTC meds weren't helping. Bottom line, I'm allergic to every tree, grass and weed known to man, on both the west and east sides of the state.

I had a full allergy panel done. Tons of little *****s across my entire back. There isn't much I am allergic too as far as foods and such but allergic to outdoor things such as mold, pollen, etc. I take zyrtec as well as my son. It works good for us. Hope you get it figured out!

I was glad I did the allergy tests... I'd never had any testing til about 5 years ago when I developed asthma. I was able to determine when my symptoms were allergy related and why they were so much worse at times. I went ahead and did shots. It worked really well. I took them for 3 years or so. When I moved to Texas recently, my allergies improved tremendously so I stopped the shots. It was also a pain to switch to a new allergy doctor to continue them or I might have kept going. I saw people of all ages come in the allergy clinic. If they are that bad, it's worth it.

I also use zyrtec daily, aside from allegra-d, it was the best one for me. I used claritin for a bit but it didn't help at all.

An allergy doctor can really help you since they know the triggers in the area. It's worth a consult at least. The testing was a piece of cake. The worst part was the itching on the spots you were highly allergic to whatever it was.

I went through a series of shots as a teenager, and while I still have allergies, they are SO MUCH BETTER. I rarely take anything now. I was a hot mess before, as my allergies are pollen, dust and mold.

I agree that the little bumps that you actually react to really do itch and for me it was an almost immediate reaction to several items. Not that I can do a lot about a dust allergy but I am really careful if there is a lot of dust like a ceiling fan.

Going to an allergist changed my life! I was always sick and went through a box of tissues a week! I had lots of horrible sinus infections and bronchitis all the time. Now I get shots once a month (I have to go tomorrow). And I also take singulair, advair and flonase for allergies, sinus nastiness and asthma. I started going about 6 years ago and it is completely covered by insurance so I don't have a co-pay. It's considered preventative medicine so that's why it's covered - usually my insurance is pretty lousy and expensive.

The testing pretty much showed that I'm allergic to everything! LOL! But the shots and meds really make life much better!
