In this tutorial I'm going to show you how to:
I'm using the Layout Studio, as it's the studio best for both manipulating objects on a layout AND working with text. You could use Vector Studio if you prefer - the tools I am using in this tutorial are in both.
1. Create some journaling with the Text Box Tool.
2. Add one or more elements and place them overlapping the text.
3. Select all the elements you want to wrap the text around
4. Go to the text menu: Text - Text Wrap - Show Text Wrap Settings
5. In the settings dialog you can set the parameters for the wrapping. Experiment with the different settings to see what you like. My most commonly used setting is Tight, and Largest Side.
6. Move one or more of the elements - notice that the text changes to accommodate the moving element.
1. Place your tag on the page.
3. Create some journaling with the Text Box Tool. Place it over the tag.
4. Select the tag
5. Go to the text menu: Text - Text Wrap - Show Text Wrap Settings
6. Here you can set the parameters for the wrapping. To enclose the text to the tag/shape chose the Inside button.
7. You can adjust how much space is between the edges of the tag/shape and the text by adjusting the values in the boxes at the bottom of the dialog.
Tip. Select the tag and text and group them together (Ctrl G) to keep them together if you move the tag later on in your page development.
1. Create your text.
2. Select your alpha and set the wrap settings to Square, and Largest Side
3. Place the Alpha at the beginning of your text.
4. Adjust the distance from text settings if the text is too close to the alpha.
5. Delete the letter it is replacing.
- Wrap text around an element
- Enclose text into a shape or onto a tag
- Insert an Alpha as a Drop cap at the beginning of a block of text.
