When you add your layouts to Pinterest or Scrapstacks, make sure you use the URL at the Lilypad instead of uploading the .jpg file directly. That way, someone can click on the layout & always come back to your gallery here at the Lilypad!

If you just upload the .jpg directly, all your information is lost if someone re-pins or re-stacks it. The layout is attributed to the person who re-pinned it or re-stacked it, and it becomes impossible to find out who originally uploaded it.

Good to know. I have always used the URL from my TLP gallery page.

I didn't even know you could upload on those sites. I love the pin it/stack it buttons!

I am a fervent pinner and stacker.
Mostly Pinterest, becauseof its wide variety, but when I have time over, I like browsing through Scrapstacks. But lately there is never time over... I spend all my time here! Lol ;-)

i do this a lot - that said, i don't link my credits to the store products as aoften now because when i pin or stack i get a bunch of weird (to me) coding pasted in the description field - lots of p's and >'s and i would end up backspacing most of it and re-typing credits - not sure why it happens but thought i'd add that in here cos it's pin/stack related....

At first I didn't know you could pin directly from Lilypad, so I would upload then copy in the credits. Now with direct linking its so easy. First I pin to Pinterest, then copy the URLs to ScrapStacks, then post to the challenge and forum. Easy Peary.

Are you not using the Stack It button... you can install it just like the Pin It button. I have both on my toolbar and they work perfectly, leading right back to the source :) Never have to even go to Pinterest or SS if you don't wanna... can do it directly from your page in the TLP gallery.

What I do is highlight the credits and copy to the clipboard before I pin, then paste them in the description for the pin. I'm not sure why it started doing that (it's HTML where it used to be plain text) and I don't like it, but that's how I deal with it.

With ScrapStacks, if you highlight the credits (even if you do not copy) when you hit the "Stack It" button, it works properly, links included.

i am very very new to this stack/pin thing, I've added the stack it button and I do get my pages to show up at scrapstacks...but am I supposed to re-pin them somewhere or just leave them in my stack? and how do I re-stack? haven't figured this one out yet...

You usually only reStack/rePin other people's posts. You might have one or more Stacks for inspiration, and you re-Stack LOs you like to your own inspiration Stack. When you are at ScrapStacks, and you hover over a LO, you get some buttons. The "S" in the upper left becomes "reStack" when you go to click it. That's how to reStack. :)

What you do with your own LOs is up to you. Some people just have one stack where they put all their LOs and others have different stacks for different purposes. If you have one LO that fits into more than one of your own stacks, you would reStack it then. If you hover over the "Everything" in the header at ScrapStacks, you can see there are many categories. Each of your personal stacks can have a category, so you might have a stack for, say, Disney LOs, and a stack for clustered LOs, and a stack for LOs with babies, etc. so that they go in the right categories. If you have a clustered LO about a baby at Disneyland, you can stack it on your Disney stack and then reStack it to babies and to clustered. It's just up to you how detailed you want to get with it.

I didn't even know there was a Stack It button! That would make things easier, although I do enjoy spending time at ScrapStacks looking at everyone's layouts, especially ones I may have missed in the gallery here. And Lorry, thanks for the tip about highlighting your credits and then stacking! I used to do that with Pinterest, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. (Although it may be a browser thing.)

I have different Stack for each creative team, one for PL, one for MPM, one for Disney, and a variety of others. Organizing things makes me happy! Sometimes I re-stack the same layout to multiple stacks, but I wait a day in between so I don't flood my feed with the same layout.

wow thanks ladies, so much info, i will have to spend a little more time at scrapstacks to get all this...

For scrapstacks I do the exact way Lorry does! It's so easy to use the stack it button.

I'm a pinned, and use the button from the TLP gallery. Works great. I highlight the text, and paste my credits the way I want them to look, lol!

I don't use ScrapStacks often. The site was always giving me the fits every time I would try. Haven't been there in awhile.

I too use the pin it button in the gallery for my Pinterest. Haven't used Scrap Stacks in a very long time.

For other people (like me) who didn't know there was a stack it button... check it out HERE. :)

I love the pin and stack it button, but I add my pages from my blog. Now I will do that from my galleries. Thank you for pointing this.

good stuff here. i always use the pin it button for pinterest.
but for scrapstacks, i used to upload my jpeg, until i started following you Melanie. I was like, how does she get all those pretty links from TLP in red? And then I finally noticed the url option. :) duh!
thanks for the info on highlighting before you Stack It Lorry. I always just copied and pasted my credits, but your way should be a tad faster. and Karen ... yes! i was like what stack it button?? got it now.
