I'm trying to decide if I am brave enough to take this on in addition to my Project Life. Anyone giving it a whirl this year?

If you haven't heard about it, you can read more at Ali Edwards' blog, but here's the gist: "A seven-day documentary project, Week In The Life is an annual opportunity to capture the simple everyday details of your life with photos and words."

I am basically already doing that with my Project Life. I have been taking it week by week instead of a photo a day approach so each week I have already been documenting the everyday little things with pictures and words. Not sure if it would be all that different.

I think it's intended to be far more in-depth, with daily schedules and lots more photos for a week than PL. I've done a digi version in the past, so I think that's what I am doing to do...though probably smaller so that I can eventually store in inside my PL album.

I haven't decided yet. I work full-time, so I'm not sure if I can convince DH to take pictures of him & the boys during the day while I'm at work. I was thinking of doing it a little smaller, maybe documenting just a weekend, instead of an entire week.

I did it last year and really enjoyed it. Of course, it was in the Spring, so everyone was off at school during the day (including dh), so that took a lot of pressure off the daytime documentation. I mostly focused on our morning and evening routines. Hmmm...what to do...what to do.

im in! guess i should get things together! I think i'm gonna do it physically-eek- cuz i adore my christmas one i did! of course my inability to make design decisions when doing physical is a bit frustrating!

omgosh!!! this is me too. the hardest thing about paper is the lack of an undo button!

I am such a starter and not a finisher. I started this last year but didn't get it done. I also started Project Life at the start of the year but gave up. I like the way Ali gathers up all her inspiration and bits and pieces for a project before she starts. If I can get it together I might do it this year. I really like Ali's templates but for $24, I am not sure.

I hope ya'll that are doing this will share. I think my life is way to boring for something like this, especially in summer. My documentation would look something like

12:00 -woke up :)
1:00 - coffee
2:00 walked outside, felt the heat and walked right back in
2:01- ate a cookie
2:31- ate another cookie
2:45- just grabbed the whole bag of cookies so I don't have to get up again :)

etc......

I seriously already struggle with my Project Life for this reason. I stalk Ali's blog and her weeks always look so exciting with lots of tickets to this or that and my weeks just feel like they all look the same. Of course, for the most part I don't mind boring but still...

I would love to do this, but I honestly don't think I would actually finish! It would be just like all of my other projects that I start that are left undone. :( Where the heck is my motivation?!?

LOL Aly...I hear ya. I have taken photos two years in a row for Week in the Life and December Daily...I have spent extra time journaling these weeks...and that's where everything stays. They're on my someday list though. Having said that..I'll probably try again this year...if nothing else I end up with a ton of photos from our everyday which is great.

amanda, did you see this post? i just read it and thought about you...http://aliedwards.com/2010/04/the-basics-of-documenting-a-week-in-your-life.html

and its funny when i make my mind to start something i usually HAVE to finish or else i think the world's gonna end or something-hahaha

i think i'm going to do a DAY in the life ... my days in the summer are basically exactly the same (park, pool, 1/2 day camp for oldest, etc) - but i'd like to have something that documents that so doing an in-depth look at a typical day could be fun. also - i know that i'll never stick to anything that last for an entire week - LOL - i already feel overwhelmed ... :)

I've been following Ali for a couple of years now, but unlike the December Daily I haven't felt compelled to do this one. P365 is enough for me, and since I'm behind on that already, I'd rather not add another project to my unfinished list. :blush I really should get the last few pictures printed and finish my Dec. Daily!

Great idea - I think it's all about taking what works for you and letting the rest go! I try to make my scrapping as guilt free as possible. LOL

So did y'all start? I decided to get dh & the kids to help out, since I'm at work all day. EEK! I'm scared to see what kind of photos I get at the end of the day today..:eek
