I post often when things are going wrong I thought I'd share my St Patrick's day that did not go at all as planned.
My car has been making weird noises - 2 different kinds and our neighborhood mechanic kept saying it was nothing. It started clunking and Wednesday the clunk was worse. So I called another mechanic. As I suspected he thought it was tie rods. Not a pleasant thing. He called me back and said the kind of car I have it is a SERIOUS problem and I needed to come in Thursday.
I had an appointment 3 blocks away from him so that worked out okay.
When I got back they didn't want me to leave - it was near breaking and would have been big damage. All in All it ended up being $200 for the tie rods and I need to go back in for the other noise which is a wheel bearing (which I also suspected).
To have the mechanic 3 blocks away from another appointment and they explained everything, showed me diagrams, the worn parts and just showed enough concern to say is there anyway I could do it then was a nice feeling. And then to have been a not so expensive fix was truly a blessing. Plus Jim had worked at the airport where they have to pay prevailing wage so our paycheck was 200 richer (around that).
Counting my blessings! Although I missed most of Anne's chat.
Still waiting to hear on the interview you all helped me with. And some scrapping mojo.
