Wanted to see if you are a praying person if you'd say an extra prayer for us tonight. Scott feels very worried he is on tomorrow's layoff list at Hewlett Packard. He's been stressed to the max, even having chest pains... I've been really worried. If he makes it past this week, it's still possible he's on the list next Monday, but he seems to feel this is a big one for him and maybe one other member of his team.

To top it all off, this morning, my MIL called at 6 am to tell us our 14 year old cat died overnight. We have a lot of guilt because she ended up spending the last months of her life without us. We got her as a kitten when we got our oldest cocker spaniel so our other cat who didn't care for the new puppy would have a friend. So she has been with us for a long, long time.

UPDATE 7/14....
Scott got approval yesterday to switch to a new team within HP. So his WFR (work force reduction release) is withdrawn and he is officially back with a job. It's a huge relief!! Thanks for all your prayers and help and advice. AND... he let me get a new laptop... so happy to have things coming back together and hopefully that's the last of our bad luck for a while. :righton

Oh Kat, I'm so sorry about your kitty. And I hope all goes well for your hubby tomorrow. ((hugs))

I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet kitty, Kat.

And I will lift prayers that all will be well for your husband tomorrow! I can imagine how life-shakingly scary and stressful that is! And I pray, that no matter the news fresh opportunities and calm head your way! ((hug))!

Oh no Kat - saying a prayer tonight for you guys. :( Didn't you guys just relocate for Hewlett Packard?! So sorry to hear about your cat too. :( Hugs all around tonight.

I am so sorry about your kitty! I will be keeping your hubby in my thoughts. I hope times get easier for your family.

Oh my goodness! You poor thing, you guys sure have had the stress lately... and yeah, didn't you just move to HP? Yikers! I'll send more prayers that he sails through without being laid off! So sorry about your kitty too. Hugs!

First, I'm so sorry to hear about your cat.

I'll keep your husband's job in my thoughts, & send out positive "vibes" your way.

good thoughts and prayers coming your way Kat! so sorry to hear about your sweet kitten too!

hopefully with all the extra good thoughts and prayers, he'll pull through today. he's been having "stress" pains aka chest pains all weekend so I am really concerned, then the cat, who he feels SO guilty about and we are still dealing with my car accident. it's like Texas doesn't want us here, lol...

Yes, we did just finalize our move here a few weeks ago. He also had an excellent 6 month review at the same time so when he left to finalize the move, whatever happened, something changed on what will happen with his project. I am really upset about that too because most of the guys they have laid off to date are new college grads with no family, in their 20's. Scott is a "new" college grad technically speaking but with a family and we gave up SOO much to move down here.

I personally think he should look for another job anyway, they are doing rounds of layoffs for several weeks on Mondays and it's just ridiculous to have to worry all weekend if you are on the cut list or not. I'm really worried about the damage he is doing to his health and on top of that, he's absolutely miserable. Even our grocery trip caused him to have a near anxiety attack!

Oh man, this is so tough. Will be keeping you in my prayers. After all you went through for him to get this job, this totally sucks. I agree with you that he should look for another job - he certainly cannot go on with the worry of being laid off the every Monday!! That's just awful. How can you work in that situation, or even function normally??

Praying for you all today. I think the worry of not being able to provide for his family is the most stressful thing possible for a man!

I'm afraid it was more bad news for us. I just don't get it.

He works until 7/20, he gets 60 days severance pay. They are working to find him a job in another part of the company (which will be the same roller coaster every day of how long it will last)... it requires travel 50% of the time... the position hasn't opened up yet. The other position is at the DFW airport and that's nearly an hour drive, he does NOT want that.

I honestly have no idea what to think or what to do. I am just seeing red right now. To uproot someone and their family from their whole life with the promise of a job when you know this is going on in the company, it's just total crap.

Sorry to be so grouchy, I do appreciate everything.

oh I am so sorry Kat! that is awful :( We are going through a move right now and I can't imagine how mad and sad I would be if DH lost his job right after. I hope something works out for you and your family!
