The Next Chapter
Parenting, for me, was like having little sidekicks nearby all the time, always thinking of them, considering their wants and needs all the time. It has been a very gradual transition, but those little kids in the first photo are all fledgling adults now. They still need their parents but I spend a lot of time doing my own things now. Hours can go by without even thinking of these people who used to always be on my mind. There was a time when most of my adventures were determined by their interests, and I loved it. Seeing them perform, watching them learn and play, participating in kids’ activities. More and more, my adventures are my own. Sometimes mine and Robert’s. It’s a special occasion to do things with my kids now. I always treasured it. Being a mom is the thing I most wanted in life and I’m very fulfilled. I will always treasure our time together. 1-31-2026
I so love your reflective journaling, and those photos. As an empty-nester, I can relate, and share many of the same feelings. Love that you have used just a few elements on your page. Beautifully done!

Thanks! There are actually 12 elements and a few are duplicated. LBW has some wonderful painty and stamp-like elements, and as I scrolled through the kit I kept finding another I wanted to use.
LOVE your journaling. Its so true how much of what we did/do is surrounded around their interests. These photos are gorgeous and this is beautifully scrapped.
