Always be Open to an Adventure

For the October Style Challenge, I created this layout for my September 25 Road Trip album
Description
I used:
Paula Kesselring Designs Torn Paper Masks 1
Lynn Grieveson Designs Hit the Road kit
I love this! Those long word strips that create your lower border are so cool! The photo is fun and now I want to go on a road trip!

Very creative page, love the torn effect on the papers to discover the photo. Thanks for sharing

Thank you, Becky. Those longer word strips are what allowed my mind to see design stability for the page as a whole. They and the patterned paper worked well to ease the very abrupt transition between the halves. It wasn't technically difficult to put everything on the top, it was making it look like the bottom of the page played a role in the layout. You did that with the hanging elements you used. I think the word strips & the patterned paper repeating colors from the top did that for me. At first, I had no idea how to use those long word strips...

I love trying to make my unconscious mind into a conscious one about my scrapping and maybe life, too! Thanks.

Thank you. I found them in my stash (of course, I have unused supplies in my stash) last week and left myself a note so I wouldn't forget to try them. I chose this tear because it mimicked the hood-to-roof curve of our minivan. Your comment also helped me consciously understand why I made the choices I did. That makes the next time easier. Thanks.

Exactly! You created a perfect transition! Love hearing about your thought process! The bottom can just look so naked if it doesn't relate to the top somehow. I suppose that is because we naturally need to see things grounded.
