Welcome to Kristin Aagard Designs' SURPRISE! Challenge

Note: This challenge is a 7-day challenge; February 26th through March 4th.

On the first Sunday (maybe) of the month Kristin hosts a new challenge, the challenge type and requirements change each month (surprise!). The challenges can be subject matter challenges, photo challenges, technique challenges, journaling challenges, etc. The challenges are typically for the full month but that can change (surprise!). Even the number of winners can change (surprise, again!)

Let’s get started...

February 2018

The Challenge = Siggy

Create a new siggy that meets the following three instructions:

1) Use a neutral (black, white, gray, brown) color font or alpha for your name,
2) use four elements, 2 on the right stacked (space ship on moon) and 2 on the left stacked (flag on astronaut) (alpha does not count towards count of 4), and
3) when creating your name use all UPPERCASE or all lowercase for the letters.

The Prize = Four winners for $5 each to Kristin Aagard Designs' store.

The Deadline = March 4, 2018 11:59 pm PT (siggy must remain active as your The-Lilypad siggy through the announcement of the winner to qualify to win)

Last Month’s Winner

Please join me in congratulating Lynn (@LynnZant) on winning last month's challenge.

The Rules
  1. Have fun and play nice!
  2. Use only Kristin Aagard kits/bundles (active, freebie or retired are all okay); you may use other designer’s templates, fonts and/or actions.
  3. The layout you use must be new for this challenge and cannot be used for another store or designer challenge.
  4. If you post your layout in the TLP gallery please follow all gallery requirements.
  5. Link an image of your layout before the end of the challenge in this TLP Challenge Thread or in the Fan Club Event; please include your credits.
  6. The winner(s) will be chosen from all qualifying layouts and will be announced when the following month’s challenge goes live.
  7. Qualification of layouts and eligibility of participation solely determined by Kristin Aagard Designs.
  8. Questions? Just post your question in either this thread or club event; please tag my name to get my attention. I will get back to you as quickly as I can.
If you are not a member yet, check out Kristin’s Facebook Fan Club

We can’t wait to see what you create!

Congratulations to Lynn!

This challenge couldn't have come at a better time. My siggy needed updating badly.

@tpbuffy I always get hung up with Siggys, especially the size. Do we have a tutorial here??? The one showing below was made for me as a gift. I could NEVER do that!!!! :cornfused

Hi, Nancy,

I do not have tutorial. I use PSE and set my file to 800 pixels (wide) by 300 pixels (tall) at a 300 resolution. Once I am done creating, I merge the layers (vs flatten, flattening turns the background white). I then resize the image to 400 pixels by 150 pixels at a 150 resolution. When I save, I save as a maximum quality png-24 file (vs jpg) so the background remains clear. The other thing I do is shadow less (less depth) because the reduced pixel size needs less shadowing.

Best,

Tracy Erin

Thanks so much. This was really a help!

I hope this was ok to do, I tucked my new signature into my MOC signature. I felt if I put it below my MOC signature, it would take up too much room. I made my name gray, added a tool and carpenter girl to your left and a construction fence and sign to your right.

WOW did not realize how small it would come out. May have to go back and enlarge this.
