JANUARY 28: Inside a Shape (Random) Welcome to day 28 of the Month of Challenges! I hope you are as excited as I am that we are all so close to the end of a fun and challenging Month! Talking about challenging, a few months ago a friend of mine challenged me to think outside the box about art and music and the restrictions and limitations that SAMENESS can have on our experiences. Funnily enough, this conversation started me thinking about the boxes that we put ourselves in by limiting ourselves to the standard 12 x 12 LO (this is how twisty and crazed my mind can be) and so I had an idea for the January 28th challenge. Your challenge is to create a page that is INSIDE a TRIANGLE shape. The Requirements: Create a layout where ALL the elements, papers, word art, photos, etc are INSIDE the shape of a triangle. Your triangle can be any triangle shape (Right, Equilateral, Isosceles, Scalene, Acute or Obtuse), or any size, as long as there are 3 straight sides and 3 angles (no wacky edges or warping please). There can only be ONE triangle on your page. Fill that triangle UP … there is to be no white space inside the triangle! You must use scrap product on your page; you cannot have JUST a photograph. Remember to follow the 75% current product rule (see below) No other product is to be on the page. The remainder of the page is to be a plain white colour. No paper. (see my example page). *Please be sure to list what products you used when you post your page in the gallery*. I hope you enjoy the challenge of scrapping outside the box (or in this case INSIDE the triangle) . Here is my layout for this challenge. As you can see I was inspired by the idea of the meditation pyramids that New Age healers use. This month's Mixed Media Monthly was PERFECT for this page of mine! Here's a recap of the requirements for this challenge: Create a page with ONE straight lined Triangle. FILL the triangle with anything you want but leave no white space INSIDE (must include scrap products) WHITE background (no paper), nothing additional on the page. Please remember the General MOC Requirements: · Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. · Your page must be posted in three places: 1. Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site). 2. Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean. 3. Posted in this thread. People can comment here if they wish. · Pages should contain at least 75% current Lilypad product (currently for sale in the store from either permanent designers or guest designers).
Wow @amandac this is an awesome one... love me a good Isosceles P.S can you link your page I am loving it and want to see what you used
When you say there can only be one triangle on the page, does that mean that there cannot be smaller triangles inside the main triangle?
1 triangle to fill up with things. It's okay if there are triangles inside your triangle, but not multiple triangles on the page. Is that more clear? No journaling listed in the requirements, so you are good! She used this month's Mixed Media Monthly.
All linked up now Em, but I used the January M3 and some extras. Exactly what Courtney said ^^^^^^^^^
Thankyou Amanda for this challenge. I have been thinking I should do something to display in my home depicting my ONE WORD for this year and this was the perfect opportunity. I will add a background of some sort before I print this to display in a CD I use like a frame.
I'm slightly shocked how quickly this came together! I added a shadow so you can see my triangle. I'll repost without it if you want.
Courtney! Don't you dare repost it! Its perfect .... I like the shadow! FYI, my scrappy challenge people, shadowing the triangle is OK!
This one came easy! I picked one of my favorite collabs, and went to work. According to the forum, it took me 25 minutes! You can do it!
The triangle background is two gold/white papers layered on top of each other--does this count as "no white space"? Please let me know so I can redo if needed--thanks!
Well I DO have a bit of an advantage posting my challenge time-wise, as I am in Australia and its been the 28th for quite a few hours, so I just chucked it in the forum after I did the grocery shopping for the week (so I didn't have to stay up late like the other hosts )
NO this is fine Heather. I just don't want to see loads of white in there, I want that triangle nice and filled up. I can see your paper is white but it is mostly gold and pink. But thanks for checking, any MORE white than this in triangle is a no-no though
