So, I'm leaving the house today!!
We went back to school last Wednesday after the Christmas break, and then didn't go back the rest of the week because of the extreme cold temperatures. I went out to the grocery store on Thursday morning, and haven't been back out since! I've only opened the door to let the pets in and out. Today it is actually supposed to get above freezing so I am going out! I don't even know where. I can be quite a homebody sometimes, but after a few days I really get antsy and we all start to get on each other's nerves. Even the cats and the dog were acting weird yesterday!

I was just wondering if you all mind staying home for days on end or do you feel the need to get out and go somewhere/anywhere after a certain amount of time?

I go to work every day, so honestly, I'd be totally fine staying home on the weekends! But the hubs is home throughout the week, and likes getting out on the weekends. So typically we go out and run errands and generally get out of the house. I am really more of a homebody, so for the most part, I'm good with hunkering down at home. Particularly when it's nasty out!

I think I would have been more ok with it if we hadn't just been off work for 2 weeks. When I'm working with no days off, I appreciate the time at home on the weekend for sure! We couldn't do much over the break either. This will be the first day our temps have been above freezing since Christmas Eve.

That's been me ... did all my errands by Thursday so I could hibernate for a few days! I did have to run the garbage out to the street Saturday morning and that was brutal! We are a balmy sunny 10 degrees at the moment, lol. So it's getting warmer!

Tuesday will be about 38 degrees. I can't believe I'm excited about that but I am ... it's all relative I guess! Thank goodness for MOC to keep me busy! :)

I love being at home, my husband goes mad if he's confined to the house for more than 1/2 a day.

I would LOVE a few days home alone. The issue this past week is that as a SAHM I've been cooped up with 2 elementary-school-age kids who are already bored of the house cuz they were "stuck" here over Winter Break ... that is a very different scenario than 3 days of me being home alone, drinking hot cocoa and reading what I want, when I want! These kids expect food and entertainment and tooth-brushing! UGH! (I'm kidding, but only like 90% kidding.) And it doesn't help that my ILs arrived Friday afternoon for a visit, so yesterday I was out of the house but not to do stuff I want, but to shop with MIL and DD.

I can't wait for tomorrow, when the kids get back to school so I can have a bit of time to myself.

I don't mind being at home but I do like being able to get out when I want. When it is so frigidly cold outside, I prefer not to go out so I've been house bound quite a bit since the 24th. I did go out the 26th for a couple of hours for Christmas dinner at my cousins (weather was bad on the 25th). Went to the grocery on the 29th. Went to the chiropractor on the 2nd. Went to the grocery on the 3rd. Finally got out of the house for more than an hour yesterday. Cousin and I went to Sam's Club to renew her membership and add me to it. Now, we were going to go tomorrow but we've got snow coming in tonight so neither of us want to battle that and her membership expires tomorrow. I can't wait for temps to get above freezing. That will feel like a heat wave! I've got some things I want to do but I wasn't about to go running around in the temps we had. I'm really hoping we get back to normal winter temps and stay there!

We are supposed to hit 50 on Wedensday!! I told DH we'll be breaking out the shorts and flip flops. He said "nooo, thongs!!" LOL
That's one of the reasons I love MOC being in January. It helps me forget the cold and yuck!

My dad was like that. He couldn't handle being in any one spot for more than a little while. We used to get so tickled at him and never expected him to stick around places very long.

Now, home ALONE for a few days. I could totally get on board with that!! I don't even think I could tell you the last time I was home all by myself. It's seriously probably been years. And I have DH here, laid off from work :madness

Yes, I often talk about how different it is being home and being stuck at home! There's just something about knowing I can get out if I want to and not being able to get out even if I don't really have anywhere I need to go.

I'm a homebody much of the time but, after 3 or 4 days I need to get out of the house for a bit, even if its just to go to the grocery store or go for a walk. DH just left on a week long ski trip, so I have the house to myself right now. Its cold and miserable out so I'm quite happy to stay home and scrap or read (although I should be cleaning out the fridge).

Yep, that's me! I don't have to go anywhere special, just get out for a few.

Im the happiest just being home doing my own thing...

Ah @Sokee I wonder if I'd get a waistline again doing that! or do you have to have the heels? and a crinoline dress? lol

I'm quite content to stay in but do wish dh had a place to go sometimes. He was taking his 53y o daughter out to lunch/dinner today but she cancelled. @bestcee asked about 'fending for yourself' the other day. I'm not sure we have enough leftovers for him to fend! I'm ok but will have to see what dh can eat.

My car went wonky in this bitter cold so it's at the dealer's now and when we took it this afternoon, it was 23° out which seemed almost balmy after this am's 8°.

We haven't been out for a couple of days because of the heat! Today is not so bad though. I love being home if I have the house to myself. It has been a busy month and we have either been away or a house full of my eldest son's friends. i am now desperate to have the house all to myself just for a few hours. My youngest is at a tennis comp for a couple of days but the eldest and his girlfriend are still here...

I hope the weather warms up a little for those in the northern hemisphere- it looked fairly intense!

I've only been out of the house 3 times this year! UGH! But today made up for when we decided to brave the cold and go for a hike to one of our favorite places. The waterfalls were frozen and beautiful. It turned out that it was 17 degrees but since it's been so cold lately, it felt like a heat wave. The sun was shining and I got all the pictures that I needed for today's challenge.

Brrr. You guys keep warm. We are having lovely weather down here in Tasmania, bottom of the world, lol. Sending some up to you!

I absolutely need to get out of the house every couple of days I get shaky and full of nervous energy if I am cooped up too long. I hurt my back in October and I was pretty much bedridden for two weeks (get up, walk to the kitchen, back to bed, lay back down, and so on). It was HORRIBLE!! I was so excited to get out of the house.
My kids are the same. If it is rainy weather and they are stuck inside, it is a nightmare!!

YES, since my DH has been laid off I have tried to encourage him to leave occasionally LOL It was lovely here today at 28 after being -4 when we woke up this morning :)

Ohhhh how heavenly it would be to have the house to myself!! I can handle the heat far better than I can handle the cold, but the last week or so has been beyond cold! And I am tired of thawing water pipes 18 times a day :/

I so want to do that! We have beautiful falls all around us and I keep seeing everyone else's gorgeous photos! I am just such a wimp when it comes to cold!

OH gosh, how miserable that must have been. I know when I am cooped up for too long, the thought of getting out makes me absolutely giddy!! A few years ago we had a snow storm that kept me in for almost 2 weeks. One day my oldest son called and said he was coming to get me in his jeep and take me out. I have never loved him more and was absolutely beside myself!

Having been restricted because of chronic back pain, I'm used to not going out a lot. In fact, even when I did go out, I was usually miserable and dying to get back home. LOL After my surgery, I'm doing so much better, and I don't mind getting out at all, but I find that I really do prefer to stay at home (like @Sokee ). Especially with it being Christmas break, Olivia was home from college and Daniel was home and hubby even took some time off. It was SO nice to cuddle up, watch movies, cook, etc., together.

I **am** looking forward to some true alone time tomorrow, though. Olivia went back to her apartment at college this evening, and Daniel goes back to school tomorrow, and hubby will go to work in the morning. I'll have about 5 hours alone! WooT!

I spent the entire weekend at home except for going to church this morning. I'm a huge weather wimp and I just don't like singe digit weather. So, I did scrapping and just finished putting away all the Christmas decorations.

I'm an introvert and a home-body, so when I don't have work and the kids don't have school, I love being at home for full days! However...I do go a little stir crazy if I don't leave the house or have human interaction (outside of our family, of course) after a couple of days. I also very much feel it if I don't get outside and soak in some sunshine - or at least some fresh air if it's cloudy.
