Julie, is a stacked frame ok to use? They're in the frame store category, but some have immovable elements on them. Like these:

Yes, I will allow a stacked frame, but you cannot deconstruct it and use the elements on other areas of the page. It would also be helpful to me if you mention your stacked frame in your thread post so I know that's what it is.

Is it OK to add shadowing? It isn't mentioned in the list of requirements. And you said: If I have not listed something in the instructions above, it should not be on your page. But, the layouts already posted seem to have shadowing.

Yes. Shadowing would not be considered an element, even if you use an action found in the store.

Either one. But you should not have any journaling on your page.
