Do you like to try new things? Or do you prefer to stick with the same way of doing things?
Today, we tried a new lunch place. I'm so glad we did! It was delicious! Normally, I'd rather go someplace I know, so I don't have to worry about wasting money on bad food! Know what I mean?
So, now I'm starting to wonder if I should make more of an effort to try new things. So, do you like new things? Or would you rather stick with the familiar and comfortable?

I do like to try new things. I passed a lunch place yesterday called Chicken Salad Chick. Now I want to go back and try it. Also an edible cookie dough place has opened on my town's Main Street! I want to try that too!

When it comes to food, I'll try new places but only if I know they have food I like because I am a very picky eater.

We do like to try new restaurants - however; seems we usually end up going to our "tried and true" favorites most of the time. Hubs likes to try a lot of different items on the menus - but for myself - if I find something I like I stick with it! LOL!

I love to try new things! I get really burned out on eating at the same places all the time. My family, on the other hand, is not as adventurous as I am lol.

I love to try new restaurants! But admit that I do like to get recommendations first.

I don't like change, but hubby does so we try out new things quite often. We usually get something safe and then something adventurous to try.

We have a few tried and true places we like to go but we also really like to try new local restaurants, although I do try to check out reviews first.

I like trying new places to end, unless I am in a funk or super hungry or something. I also like trying new items on menus. But my favorite is trying new things, i.e. samples at Costco... Only a few times have I been disappointed when I got home and it was not as good as I remember the sample being.

It really depends on what's going in my life whether I'm adventurous or not. Since I've been feeling so much better after my surgery, I'm definitely up for taking chances with things. Before, it was so rare for me to go anywhere and such an effort, that I wanted to be sure I enjoyed whatever I was doing. Even now, if I'm tired I will still want to go with our old standbys as far as food goes.

Chicken Salad Chick is AWESOME. I wish we had one here. I was in Alabama to visit someone in the hospital and my sister, mom and I stopped there to eat before heading back home. It was so cute!

I'm a loyal creature of habit. However, I also enjoy adventure. So yes, I do like to try new things. But I also love familiar routines. Biggest example: I eat the same breakfast almost every day. Scrambled eggs and veggies wrapped in a flour tortilla. Occasionally I do something different and have scrambled eggs and veggies in a bowl or a fried egg sandwich. :D Rarely, I have oatmeal or pancakes or french toast.

I have some favorite restaurants I return to frequently, the main one being Panera. But a few weeks ago I went with friends to a new restaurant (Sedona Taphouse, which just opened in Fredericksburg, VA about a year ago) and enjoyed it very much.

I do know what you mean about not wanting to waste money on bad food. That's part of the reason I go to familiar restaurants most of the time. But if I do try a new place and don't like it much, I brush it off, vow not to return perhaps, and move on.

I like to think I like to try new things... but pretty sure I am actually not good at that or change in general.

This is my problem! We have a Mexican food place we love. And I always get the same thing. It's so good, I haven't tried other things!

I hate that! I've had it a few times. And then I wonder if I was starving when I ate the sample.

I would be happy eating same thing every Sat for the rest of my life. Lol....but my hubby loves new places. I go, and we laugh, what I order is usually better. I research the place on line before I go. I seriously twitch if we go before I can research.

i'm a creature of habit except when it comes to food, what holds me back is everyone i usually go out to eat with! at least when we travel sometimes you have to try new places! (Although DD would still rather starve most of the time (oh, the drama!))

I like same old, same old... unless it's something I like that might sound more appealing than my same old, same old. That sounds weird, I know. Hmmm... say I love a shrimp dish with a garlic sauce... but then they offered a shrimp dish with a spicy bang bang sauce... I might switch to try it, since it's so similar. lol! :giggle A lot of times, by trying others dishes, I get an idea if there is another meal I want for the next time. I make my kdis try a lot... but they seem to be creatures of habit too.

I like trying new places! I know I can usually find some kind of salad that I'll eat at the very least.

I am a BOTH! I like to try new things, but I am also a tried and true person :) I like particular restaurants. Lately 2 new ones we tried were bombs so we went back to the norm!

Man! I hate when a new restaurant bombs for me! It is comfortable to know that next time we'll go somewhere tried and true!

And I'm curious: What makes it bomb for you? The service? The food? Ambiance? All of it?

Both times it was the food. They opened what was supposed to be an authentic Irish pub here getting all the interior stuff bar tables wood etc all from Dublin and the corn beef was the toughest and worst CB I ever had.. the carrots weren’t even fresh cut carrots .. they were those fake carrots that they put on veggie trays and cooked those and the potatoes were awful.. corn beef & cabbage is one of those that shouldn’t be messed up at an Irish Pub! Re the other.. we went out to breakfast and everything was canned & yuck. Hubby had corn beef hash and it was the canned stuff and the eggs etc terrible. I ordered a spinach feta omelet and it was just awful. So no more! 2 restaurants done! Lol. We don’t go back.
