Candy season starts officially at our football homecoming parade. The high school has a HUGE parade and so much candy is thrown that my boys come home with GALLON bag full of sugar. Then Halloween and every school party until Christmas vacation! I am overwhelmed! bhhahahha
I am just overwhelmed? I think the stuff is multiplying in the night!
Does your candy have magical powers to create more?
lol

I think our candy has disappearing capability. I periodically clean out the junk food cupboard (not for me, for hubs LOL) so anything getting old gets moved to the front of the shelf and I remind hubs to eat it or lose it to the garbage. So the funny thing is, he pulls out a bag yesterday with a bunch of Halloween candy in it, from that cupboard. I know it's not from this year b/c we didn't have cheezies this year yet the assorted candies/chocolate bars were in a big cheezies bag. I can't believe that was in the cupboard from last year and somehow I never saw it all the millions of time I went into that cupboard and organized and moved stuff around. I think it magically became invisible each time I opened that cupboard and organized :)

I have no candy in my house. None. Not one piece.
I'd kind of like to have a piece.
But I know as Christmas approaches, it will appear.

We had sugar overload here over the weekend. This was what our kitchen table looked like on Saturday....

Your table reminds me of a tradition we started when our boys were in their teens or close to them. I'd make a goodie table every Friday after we did the shopping. I had a Christmas table cloth and a centerpiece I'd use to make it all look pretty. Cute little Christmasy plates and bowls. And we did it each weekend from Thanksgiving to New Years. I'd get Christmas candies, cookies, chips and dip, crackers, any goodies people dropped by or that we made ourselves, sliced oranges, bananas, etc. So there were good things among the candy and sweets. The first weekend we did it they ate it all in the first day! So I told them we weren't going to replace the goodies when we ran out. That if they wanted to snack on them all weekend they had to not eat so much that first day. After that we got to where it lasted all weekend. And that was the only time of year we did that. They loved it. When company came they enjoyed it too. It was a fun tradition. We haven't done it like that since they all got married and moved away though. So sad. Oh, and we had five boys. So to make those goodies last all weekend took some self control. :)

Last night I head a sort of crinkly sound coming from Naomi's bedroom. I opened the door and found her sitting on the floor with a flashlight eating her Hallowe'en candy. Because this was a 3rd offence, the candy went into my office today. So our candy is definitely not multiplying.
BUT... I have already been looking for both of my favourite holiday treats on the shelves. I've been told I'll have until after Remembrance Day for President's Choice Candy Cane Crackle ice cream, and December 1st David's Tea Santa's Secret.

We have two glass pumpkins full of Halloween candy...one is all chocolate and the other is non-chocolate items. It's not multiplying, but it's not going away too quickly either. I'm mean and will only let the girls have one or two pieces a day.

What a cool tradition! I would love to do something like that... I don't think I could pull it together this year, but maybe I'll plan ahead for next year. The self-control is probably going to have to be mainly on my part though! :-)

So true!! I had a fasting blood test Monday morning and I was still sort of afraid that I would have too much sugar in my system from the weekend! lol! Thankfully, the birthday party was a joint party for my daughter and her two best friends... the mom who set up the table, came back the day after the party and took most of the leftover candy back home with her.

oh how funny Anne! I remember having candy in the house at halloween and then at christmas time... this was also at work when the bulk of candy was around... I don't think it multiplied by itself, but it wound me up so I would do more at work.. lol it gave the rush! Now I keep candy out of the house at all times as I am not supposed to eat it LOL!!

GAH!! I would have worried too...I don't like failing any kind of test LOL!!

I would have happily given the leftovers away...I don't need that kind of temptation just staring me in the face!
