Favorite Disney Ride | pad patter 10.23.17

I'm a thrill seeker so I love Space Mountain at Disneyland. A rollercoaster in the dark is the best because you don't know what's going to happen next! I also love California Screamin' at DCA. I'm all about the big rides ;)

Someone would have had to knock me out...I would have flipped out! My hands are all kinds of clamy just thinking about it!!
It was the first ride of the day - and at 9:30 am I was ready for a drink by the time we got off! Unfortunately, it was too early for them to be selling any... I was shaking like a leaf for a couple of hours.

GAH!!!! It's never to early for anyone to sell adult beverages!! I would have been done for the day LOL!! I think you should sneak a flask of vodka in next time that way you do slip some into your Dole Whip...I'm just sayin, it's better to be over prepared LOL!

Oh gosh...how to choose...

Disneyland...Space Mountain, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and Splash Mountain (even though I'm the one that usually comes off soaking wet).

California Adventure...Screaming, Soaring over California, Tower of Terror, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, Grizzly River Run and Radiator Racers.

My daughter and I will be in Disneyland on November 4th with her choir and I'm hoping it isn't too busy since we only have a day.

If you only have one day, definitely get the maxpassn so you can get digital fastpasses! We got it all 4 days and loved it! It was crazy busy during the time we were there, but with the maxpass, we got to do everything we wanted to do and didn't wait in any standy-by lines. The only lines we waited in were for rides that didn't do fastpasses and the food lines. It was so easy to just click on what we wanted on our phone and pick rides from either park with our park hopper passes. The maxpass also includes the photopass, so we got all the ride photos and photos from the disney photographers in the park. $10/day/ticket for the Maxpass was well worth it. You can see all your fast passes on the disneyland app and cancel if you want and grab a new pass as soon as your current fast pass time starts. There is a 30 min wait between fastpasses and 90 min max between fastpasses. There were times when we had 3 fastpasses that overlapped so we just went from ride to ride and grabbed new fastpasses while walking to the next ride. Enjoy your trip!

I can't wait till we go in the spring for our big family celebration (birthdays, anniversary, and just a big family vacay/reunion)!

Disneyland favorites are Space Mountain and Pirates. Oh, and Jungle Cruise if you can get a good driver! Weirdly enough, I've only been to DCA once but I loved Radiator Springs Racers and Soarin' Over California (I heard this changed now though?).

Yes, they changed Soarin Over California to Soarin' over the World. It's still good, just different sites to see. They also changed Tower of Terror to Guardians of the Galaxy. It still does the drops and has 6 different versions.

I would but I'm chaperoning a group of girls and I don't know that they want to purchase those. If it were just my daughter and I, I would be all over that!

Hmmm... it's been a very long time since I've been to Disney. The late 80s or early 90s, I think. So I don't remember any of the rides. :P

I'd love to go back soon, though, with my kiddos & find out which one is my favorite!

Great question, but how can I choose?!

We love Pirates (last trip we rode 10 times over 4 days)
I love Tower of Terror
I despise Haunted Mansion - in fact to this day I still ride it but I keep my eyes closed during it. I ride it still because that way I can tell my kids they can still ride the rides they don't like at least once a trip!!! LOL

Have you ever gone on Haunted Mansion during the Holiday Season? They have it all decked out for Halloween/Christmas. Jack Skeleton and his crew have taken over the mansion and it's so fun to see how they meshed Christmas and Halloween. I've been twice during the Holidays and now I'm trying to remember what the normal version is like... hehe

I'm also sad that they took Tower of Terror out of Disney California Adventure and replaced it with Guardians of the Galaxy. Tower of Terror is based on the Hollywood Tower Hotel so it made sense to have it in California. Guardians of the Galaxy is similar in that you go up and get dropped a bunch, but I liked the story line of Tower of Terror better. I guess I'll have to go to WDW in Florida again to experience it.

Love!!!!!!! Buzz le spin as we call the buzz lightyear ride. And toy story mania for sure! The carousel! Oh I just love disney!

And...it smells like Gingerbread in the dining room with the dancing ghosts! So yummy!

It bothers me that they changed Tower of Terror and Soaring Over California. Maybe they will eventually change the park name since it really isn't a California theme so much anymore?

I have not. I'm not a fan of Nightmare Before Christmas either though. hahaha. We get to see the Jungle Cruise as the Jingle Cruise in November and I'm excited about that!

I agree about ToT. Keeping that as a classic in CA made so much more sense!!!

I'm not a fan of Nightmare Before Christmas either, but they did an amazing job with the Haunted Mansion. I was thoroughly surprised and think I like the Holiday version better than the original. The Dining Hall is my fav with the gingerbread smell and everything going on. If you're going in November, then you'll be able to see it. We saw the holiday version last year over Thanksgiving and it was the same last week. They didn't have Jingle Cruise yet, so I missed that. Maybe I'll get to see that another time.

ohhh my!!!! do I have to choose one????!!!!!!
I remember loving the Pirates of the Caribbean, it was so amazingly real!!!! ... think about the fact this was 2006...so the Harry Potter rides and some of the new stuff didn't exist. We also loved the Haunted Mansion but wasn't as great as The Pirates. Loved the Studios and Sarita was amazed at the Art Attack zones.
Some people think Euro Disney isn't as good as the USA ones, but we were both impressed by the fact that it didn't feel like that to us then.
Sarita went to Space mountain at least 4 times, so that is most definitely her fave.
Now I don't do roller coasters, Sarita is crazy about them.
Last day, we were already checked out ad had sent luggage to the train so we could stay at the parks until closing times. We had not gone to the Big Thunder Mountain.
Because I was in the wheel chair and we had the blue card, we didn;t need to queue or need for fast passes, but as I wasn't going in the rollers, Sarita would get a fast pass, I would stay outside chatting to the kids who were at the gates (the workers, great French practice!!! LOL)
With Thunder Mountain, it was near closing times so they run out of fast passes...the queue was huge so I suggested we fgo to the back and asked the lady who was working there if they could let Sarita in as our train was in less than two hours....
She said they couldn't on her own, but if you go with her...no worries, you are first in the queue.
I panicked and almost said no way......but one look at Sarita (then 10 years old) 's face and...the spoiling mum of an only child gave up into my logical reasoning...and of we went.
So we go.
I can't explain the feelings I had, but there is a photo (for which I payed 14 Euros as it is the most amazing memory keep of all :giggle
When we finally stop, Sarita goes:
"mum did you see how amazing the river looks....blah blah"
I didn;t even let her finish... "See?????? Seeee????!!!!!! NOPE< I kept my eyes closed all the time!!!!"
I NEED to find that photo, I actually need to scrap that, I will try find asap!!!!!!

LOL we DO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will try tomorrow when my carer is over... I have the girls now in the kitchen cooking me full English breakfast, nothing can get on my way to food right now LOL

I would have to say that Haunted Mansion, It's A Small World are my favorite WDW rides. I make it a point to go on them every single time I am there (which has only been 4 times... 1971, 1974, 1976 and 2013). Space Mountain joined that club after it was built. The other attractions I always go to is Hall of Presidents and the Enchanted Tiki Room.

I have only been to DL once (1997) and there was only one ride I really wanted to go on.... Matterhorn. Unfortunately it was closed for refurbishing at that time! I did enjoy Indiana Jones Adventure there though.
