Ruined |Pad Patter 8.5.17

@LynnG @bbymks5 and @MrsPeel I'm going to try the trick I saw in the reading forum. I'm going to type it in white below... if you want to know, highlight it and it should show up, if you don't want to know, you won't see it :-) If it doesn't work for you, just let me know and I'll PM!

Highlight below this line...
Danielle, who runs the office in Iowa on the show, doesn't actually live in Iowa and run the shop. She lives here in Chicago... her daughter is friends with my son.
1. How cool is that trick?!!

2. Yep, that would totally spoil it ... and every other 'reality' show probably :cornfused

I don't think it ruined it - it made it better - but finding out that Pensacola is actually first settlement in 1559, is pretty cool. St. Augustine claims that it has the oldest permanently occupied European settlement, but Pensacola, while a short lived settlement because of a hurricane, was actually the first.

I was just going to type and say to do the white text trick @tkradtke but you beat me to it. That is weird though about that show. I didn't care if it was ruined because the skinny guy in that show really annoys me SO much. He has tamed it down a bit lately, but still just annoying. I like the other guy so much better. They actually came to our area last summer and went to a guy's giant pole barn on my parents road. He wasn't great on the show though because he refused to sell anything.

That's too funny!! Wasn't what I thought it was LOL!!

In white:

How much of the show is staged? I know "reality" TV is pretty much all smoke and mirrors, if it wasn't most would be a total train wreck.

I just find it hard to believe they just randomly find hoarder houses with nice enough people who will allow two strangers to just rummage through their goods. I'm thinking these are people who have reached out them for whatever reason, or perhaps a family member or friend reached out to them and they had some pre conversations with the owners to break the ice and let them know, hey, we can help with your hoarding by giving you some cash and some humor.

This was the funniest thread! I kept reading, then Tracy's ruined show, and I have watched, but it's occasional. Then to see all these PM's, and I wanted to know too, and was going to send a message... then to see the hiddent text. Yay! :giggle I don't think it ruined it for me.... I don't particularly care much, and realize that there must be scheduling and arrangements made ahead of time for each episode.

Um... I can't think of anything "ruined" for me at the moment.

Good Morning America ruined The Bachelorette for anyone who DVRed last night's finale. I don't watch it but I saw their "Rachel and [fiance name] are coming! Here's a pic of them on their overnight flight to NYC!"
I saw that and thought of this thread!

Oh! I just remembered something. I was substitute teaching a high school class on a Friday. It was opening day for Force Awakens. I was super excited to go see it. I think I even had tickets reserved for a show that night or Saturday. Some punk in one of the classes had seen the midnight showing the night before and announced that: Hans Solo was killed. I was so annoyed. (what he said is in white)

We used to watch Storage Wars from time to time because it was something we could all watch together when the kids were younger. It was ruined for me when I learned [that a lot of the interesting stuff in the lockers was "seeded" by the show for the actors to find].

I also used to love Woody Allen movies but now I can't watch them anymore since I found out that he's a sexual predator. Ick.

Oh my gosh! That used to happen to us if we didn't get to watch The Amazing Race when it aired. By the news that night they would be advertising Chat with team x and y who lost last night. It used to tick me off so bad!

There was a Walking Dead one that happened in the last year or so by AMC themselves! They spoiled the episode after it aired on the East Coast, and made the West Coast mad!
