what do you do when you have a kit that has SO MUCH good stuff in it - you literally want it all on the page? i am struggling to narrow these elements and word art bits down. i am not a full page/fill it up scrapper or a heavy "clusterer" ... but i want all.the.things on my page.

the struggle is real!!! anyone else struggle with this. i think i might have to make a few pages with this one!

ps ... working with Just Jaimee's newest July Storyteller kit - oh my it is awesome. those that subscribe, you are in for a treat!

You are going to laugh at me..... I always do this! But... when you look at my pages, you would never think that from how simple they are! :giggle I end up trying so many different things, and whatever gives me that "yup, that fits" is left alone.

I struggle with this too. I see so many gorgeous "simple" pages, and these ladies have a very special designing gift. I just want to use it all!

I look at my pages and question whether I've done too much. That's why I like challenges that limit me. I end up loving those pages, but I could never exert that much self control on my own!

I think back to my early days of paper scrapping (circa 1997) when I used to ask myself: Is this sticker vomit? :D

ha ha....when I started reading your post I thought of Jaimee's Storyteller kits and how I would just go back and forth, picking bits and pieces and then taking them off my page b/c there was too much on it LOL.

I was a more minimalist scrapper yrs ago but with all the awesome digi goodies available, I just started using more and more on my pages :)

So I guess I'm not much help....I say....put more on your page...have fun!

Uh...have you SEEN my pages?! LOL And hybrid, at least I can reprint if needed!!! I am always trying to guess what, how much and how big to print!!! LOL LOL

I would never have guessed that Jenn - your pages are so stream lined! It's ridiculous how many layers I had on my page and how much I ended deleting with regrets!

Yes sticker vomit ! That's exactly where my page was headed because EVERYTHING in the kit was so darn cute. I used to call it sticker sneeze back in the day ... that is pretty much what happens whenever I try to put on too much. I just don't have the knack. I'm not minimalist - I do like a good dose of elements - but I cannot successfully get that full page look and have it done right. (even with a template :giggle)

I think it is so funny that Storyteller is exactly what came to your mind at first. So much good stuff jammed in those kits! :agree

Are you kidding me - your pages rock! I don't know how you do it! I have a hard enough time deciding what to use digitally - can't imagine how hard it is to try and narrow down what to print so you are not wasting paper & ink. And the sizes - yikes - I didn't even think of that. Now I am even more in awe of what you do - just keep doing it because it is gorgeous!

BAWWHAAAA!!!!!!! Well, when I use traditional supplies now I am saying..."oh this could be bigger" why did they only give me one...WHAT why make it in that color! LOL LOL I am officially switched to hybrid! LOL There are only a couple of companies that I go gaga over their collections...Jillibean Soup and Fancy Pants (of course Amber is doing a lot of their stuff!). And my Maya Road embellishments!!

Very true ... being a hybrid girl ... you have all the super POWERs. Now I might picture you in your scrapping space working on your projects with a cape and a big H on your chest. :giggle

This is me on pretty much every single page I make. :giggle

Me too, I want to use everything from the kit and everywhere on my page! I can't stand white space, because if I print (which I rarely do), I think it's a shame to have an empty area.
I resize to 8x8 and print on 8x11. And because I'm cheap and because the price remains the same, I use the blank space for other things. Last time I printed bookmarks.

I'm totally an 'all-the-things' scrapper! You should see my layout with July's Storyteller! ;) Too good! The best thing I like about Jaimee's storyteller kits- versatile! I end up using them over & over and you'd never know it! So if there is something (usually word art!) that I love but doesn't go with my current layout- I try to go back & use it on another project!

I just want to be able to use all the things once! I so envy the clustering girls that fit everything & it all looks stunning! I feel when I try it ends up looking like I vomited on the page & I take it all off.

So to cure my wanting to use all the things, I just end up making multiple pages with kits until all my "WANT TO USE" items get used! But I wish I could cluster well & incorporate more of kits on my layouts. Definitely a BIG envy of mine!

That is SO clever! I like your thinking!

That is a great way to look at it. Ties in with Aaron's post on the blog from the 27th ... 5 ways to stretch your kits!
And I know. Me too. I can do a decent small cluster - but the scrappers that can cluster like no body's business and shadow it perfectly ... that is a skill that I do not possess!

I can't wait to see it ... you always rock the full page! :beat
