I saw this on Facebook and while it's sad, poignant, it's precious also. I may check my own dress and if the squirrels in the attic haven't eaten it, I may do this.

I never did get the company that did it but I'm going to go back to FB and see if there's any more info.

Oh my goodness. What a heartfelt and sobering thing to do!! My dress has been in the closet for 36 years now. I will have to give this some thought!

That is both amazing and heartbreaking at the same time. How wonderful that there are people that have not forgotten these little angels and have cared enough to make a sacrifice of something they treasure for complete strangers in such dire emotional need. May they be blessed for having such a generous spirit! If I knew where my wedding dress was (my mother lost it), I would definitely do this.

That is so wonderful yet so heartbreaking. I would love to have more information about it. My wedding dress is still hanging at my mother's and I have no need or want for it since that marriage ended badly. I would love to see it going to something so lovely.

I've heard about this and it seems like a very kind way to help a family during what must be one of the most difficult times. I don't think my dress would be right for this (wrong type of fabric, imo), but now I wonder if I can't donate other things--even just thread for them to use?

For those of you who knit or crochet, I know many hospitals also accept blankets and caps, too. You could always contact your local hospital to see if they accept donations.

On your last post I posted a link to a company that does this :) let me see if I can find it again.

So sad. It is a great way to provide some help at such a terrible time. If I had my dress, I'd donate it.

Oh my goodness, what an incredibly selfless idea this is! I just read an article the other day about a Police Officer and Paramedic who felt compelled to do something for those families after their own child was stillborn. Their little treasure chests had things like molds of the babies' hands and feet in it. There were other things too and they were packaged so lovely and lovingly. I'm sure they meant the world to those families. This could be done on a big scale too. I bet there are a lot of brides that would love to donate. So worthwhile! Thanks for sharing, Maureen!

I've seen that before and it's a lovely idea!

I'm still holding onto my dress for my daughter. It's not her style at all, but I'm thinking she might use part of the lace or something in her bouquet? If she doesn't, that's fine. I'll let it go at that point, and this would be a good way to have it bless someone else.

My nephew was born prematurely and didn't make it. I wish we would have known about this then. Such a beautiful thing to do.

Do you remember seeing my daughter's wedding pictures? She/we made her bouquet and her husband's boutonniere out of my mother's wedding gown. Both turned out beautifully. Here's a pic of her bouquet.

There was an article on the news channel Pay it Forward feature about a woman who donates clothes and blankets every year on her stillborn daughter's birthday. It's a sweet story, and she felt compelled after a nurse bought her an outfit to hold her baby.

I think they're continuously full...every time I call up the page it says they aren't looking for donations...which is good for them, but doesn't help you...
Try checking your local area? There's one local to Utah that does the same thing. The nice part is, if it's local the shipping costs are much much smaller or nonexistent!
