Happy Anniversary, my friend!

We usually try to go out to eat at least. On bigger anniversary dates (every 5 or 10 years), we do something bigger. For our 20th, I dreamed of going to Niagara, but instead we ended up staying home for 10 days while we sent our children away. Seriously, it was SO relaxing and I still go on and on about it. We had the best time, doing special projects, going out to eat, renting movies, hanging out and chatting. It definitely made us feel young and free again!

You know my family loves to celebrate birthdays. If my mom isn't cooking the meal and the cake, then I am! Even if there isn't a big present, we always do that. The bday boy or girl gets to choose the menu and the dessert. There's fresh flowers, a beautifully set table, and lots of smiles! My hubby's family isn't as big into birthdays, but my mom spoiled me so we have to have a special party or I get upset. I know SPOILED!

As far as kiddos, Olivia had bday parties through high school, usually sleepovers. We would decorate the house and have special candy, snacks, etc. Daniel has actually skipped a party a couple of times and chose to take the $$ we would spend on a party and buy an extra gift. LOL Last year he had a Nerf gun war with some friends at my mom's yard and then the boys came and slept over. He wants to do it again this year. :)

Happy Anniversary!!

Hubby and I usually forget our anniversary until it's already passed LOL! We keep birthday and holiday celebrations for the kids, so we don't do anything for each other than tell each other Happy Birthday etc.

Pretty low key. Bigger years are for parties or getaways.

Usually for our anniversary we try to have a "day" date. Either a day long hike or a drive to the big city for shopping and a nice dinner. We did go on a cruise for our 10 year anniversary. We were planning to do that again for our 15...but we were in China adopting Matthew. Maybe we'll do something big for our 20th in 3 years...unless we go to China again!

For our kids birthdays we usually just celebrate with a meal to a restaurant of their choice and then cake and ice cream with extended family...and with 7 cousins and 7 kids that makes for a big enough party in my opinion!

We have bigger parties for their 1st birthday home and for 13 and we'll probably do a bigger one for 16 as well. I have a daughter turning 13 in November & she's already planning her party!

I'd been looking for a cross-body zippered purse that was big enough to fit all the junk SAHMs carry around for themselves and for their kids lol but small enough not to be confused with a diaper bag. It also had to have a thick, substantial strap that wouldn't break and that was long enough for my tall frame (I didn't want the purse sitting on my chest lol)
What purse? I love mine!

Belated Happy Anniversary!!

We're pretty low key around here as our family is small. We usually go out for dinner for my birthday and I make DH a special dinner for his birthday. We often forget our anniversary and end up going out for dinner a week or so later.

I love birthdays!!! I bake myself a cake & get food I like. My mom usually gets me a gift & flowers. I like for my boys to make me something, but it doesn't always happen. My husband & I don't celebrate anniversaries or Valentine's.
