We had it too and I forgot the bacon as well! Well... I didn't forget, I just ran out of time and something had to go. Agreed, @mrs2a50, it was amazing! Everyone had multiple helpings (lost track of how much the kids ate of it). Definitely a keeper!

Yes, you MUST sample the sauce, and sample it often!
