I love The Lilypad - if only...

Early this year, I decided to make The Lilypad my digi-scrapping home on the web. It's absolutely no contest: the designers are brilliant, the challenges keep me motivated, and best of all, the community here is positive, inclusive, and supportive. Nearly all of my scrapping dollars have been spent here this year, and I couldn't be happier with my decision.

Well, that's not true. There is one thing that would make me happier.

There's one particular designer at another store that I am utterly in love with. Like, everything she creates, I HAVE to have. And it kills me that I'm buying her stuff but not scrapping with it, because I post in the galleries HERE.

I tried participating in the galleries at that other store, I really did ... but they're not inclusive or positive, they're clique-ish and cold. You guys have spoiled me.

I love it here at TLP so very much. The only thing that would make it better is if this other designer would move her shop to The Lilypad. (I'm not going to hold my breath, but a girl can dream, can't she?)

So that's what I'm putting at the top of my Christmas wish list. :D

Anybody else struggle with this, or am I alone in my insanity?

I have had a few of these in the past year or so. lol . I know your pain. my love for the pad wins. I can't bring myself to even do other challenges most of the time. not enough time in the day... :)

Funny thing. I have been here for almost 5 years. I have watched the store explode with more and more of my favorites. There was a time I bounced around all over digiland. I don't even know most of the stores or designers out there anymore.

Each time a new designer is announced, I squeal! Seriously, even the ones I didn't know about...I just love them all.

I actually cried when Tangie and her mom came, and I have barely had time to roll around in their designs lol!

I'm with you, though the struggle has nearly disappeared. I still occasionally scrap with my old kits, I just don't post those layouts in the gallery here. I haven't bought anything new from anywhere else since very early this year though.

Yes - this! If I only get so much scrap time, I want to spend it where it's most rewarding, and that's here at The Pad. :)

I still get their newsletters 'cause I used to be a complete Freebie Whore but these days, I just skim through them and hit delete.

I, for one, would LOVE to design here!
Y'know, during my month as a guest Polly, I was bowled over by just how much fun those teams seem to have. I bet the designers have just as much fun (even though it's technically work - LOL!).

Every month I say to myself.I will Use 25 % from a couple of other designers that I love from my stash ,and still post here, that way the powers that be here sees their stuff, and maybe will invite them for a guest spot, but once I start scrapping I just automatically go for my lilypad folder..:love.I do use the others though for making cards and mini books for friends and family .

That is a sneaky and wonderful idea - I'm in! I just struggle with how to calculate what 25% of the supplies on a particular layout would be. Do you count each individual element, is it based on size, or do you go by screen real-estate... and then I'm making it too complicated so I just use all TLP supplies. (Yes, I know I'm neurotic.)

That is a great idea! I've used this particular designer's kits to make Mother's Day cards and birthday cards and thank-you cards ... I just need to do more of that. And I love the mini-album idea!

It is super duper here. I'd suggest your other favorite designer to Laura....a girl has to tell Santa what she wants. ;)

Um... you can definitely wish. I had the exact same wish and my wish was granted last year... see my tagline? I no longer shop ANYWHERE else. All my favorites are here now, so I totally understand!

I used to be that way... a couple of years ago, I was a site CT at SO. I followed Amber LaBau here for her new store - I think this was 2013ish(?) , and slowly got involved here, scrapped, and LOVED the community. I was spending more and more time here. Soon after, I realized this was where I was supposed to be. I stepped down at SO and I've never looked back. Then, SO closed, and more of my favorites landed here! It does happen! Believe!

Hmmm... other goodies. I would suggest using some of the products on your layouts, at least so they get used! Maybe a small side album? Siggies?

TLP is just so special, the designers, the pollys, the members....it's the trifecta of perfection! How's that for a catchy phrase! I should use that in a LO title. :)

I have been thinking about purging more of my stash b/c like most of you, I don't use a lot of the other non-TLP stuff so it's just taking up EHD space.

Ditto. However, I do create a lot of scrap pages that I don't share. That does allow me to use other designers, but you are right. I have forgotten I had other non-TLP favorites - some of which have retired completely.

Solution - scrap the TLP challenges with TLP designers and scrap a bunch with other favorite designers --- I just need to scrap more!! I certainly have the pictures waiting to be scrapped.

Gotcha @angiekey I have really come to realize that for my travel albums, I totally love the products from another designer.

I really have enough to do travel albums for the rest of my life and it usually does keep my from buying more more more. I still make a wishlist and then decide on the big sale days whether I want them or not. Since we mostly travel in the fall and winter, I have a specific range of colors etc. By doing these albums of past trips, I get to blend to my heart's content with products that are not really replicated here. But for my PL and the monthly challenges, I scrap here and enjoy the wonderful company. It's a balance.
