So the other day I was in the store and this was in full stock. This is one wine that we do love to heat up and serve that way in the fall. Not sure if you can get this anywhere else as it is a Michigan wine...?

Witches Brew

It is our secret wine blend enhanced with cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and other natural spices that makes this a crowd pleaser and favorite of Leelanau Cellars' fans. Perfect for entertaining, this wine will explode with intense flavor when served warm but can also be served chilled as an ingredient in sangria. Witches Brew is perfect for campfires, tailgating, or any gathering (large or small) on a chilly evening.

Made me start thinking does anyone else have a favorite drink that they love to have 'per what season it is? Place share with recipe if you have it!

Egg nog in the winter. Homemade with raw eggs, so I won't share the recipe.

In the summer, it's orange julius -
6 ounce orange juice frozen
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup milk
10 ice cubes
1 cup water
1⁄3 cup sugar
Optional: 1 egg (optional, just adds extra froth)
Toss it all in the blender, and blend until the ice is the consistency you want and drink up!

You mean other than PSL Pumpkin Spice Latte? I'm sticking to that until my supply of flavors creamer is gone and then I make my own mocha by adding a good heaping tsp of good hot chocolate to my ground coffee. I despise peppermint and have come to realize I don't like salt with my caramel. I may have to check what Dunkin Donuts has now cause I have a coupon expiring next week.

We'll have to look for that when we're in Michigan over Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sounds good for after a day of skiing.

I had raw egg eggnog one year at a party and it was amazing. But I haven't worked up the nerve to make it myself yet. My son is an eggnog connoisseur, so I may try to find a non-raw egg version (if one exists).

It's warm here most of the time, so I do love having Ginger Ale and Grape Juice . . . it's like a spritzer.

When it does get cold, I love having hot chocolate. I'm enjoying having my Bigelow Constant Comment tea, because it is spiced and reminds me of the holidays.

At Christmas, I like to have at least one glass of eggnog, and as well, I love to make wassail (but don't make it often anymore).

I love eggnog! I don't think I've ever had raw/homemade eggnog though.

Usually I have hot chocolate in the winter. The local Christmas festival in the park has snack booths and one has the best hot chocolate. Actually, the drink itself is normal, probably from a mix. But I call it "epic hot chocolate" because they add marshmallows, pile on whipped cream, drizzle chocolate syrup on that, add sprinkles, a mini candy cane, a cherry, and a little snowman topper! It's ridiculous! I know I could do it at home but it's so fun to walk away from the booth and see people's reactions.

My sister makes a yummy apple cider. The house smells amazing when she makes it.

@corsicar your epic hot chocolate sounds amazing

it's about this time of year (in the southern hemisphere when it's heating up )) that we pull out the juicer and start making fruit and veg concoctions - then a fortnight later decide it's all too much and it goes back in the box for anohter year!

i had a fabulous 'strawberry cheesecake milkshake' when we went out for dinner to a (gourmet) burger place a few weeks back so DH went and googled/pinterested (i dunno really but he was obviously bored and sick of me rabbiting on about it) and has started making a banana cheescake version (strawberries are too $$ atm) - the secret is just cheesecake box mix (there's no actual cream cheese in it), so it's like 1 banana, 2 teasp cheesecake mix and a cup of milk and blend and heaven!

going to have to try this one , sounds so good!

I'm looking forward to the hot weather, and some nice cold white wines, no witches brew but yummy Sauvignon blanc ...

In the winter I like coffee with Starbucks mocha flavour and a few drops of peppermint extract.

Winter ! At home; Belgian hot chocolate . Or coffee with a coffee/chocolate liqueur on the side.
Out ; cappuccino ,with chocolate topping.preferably in Costa.
An there's always Rose wine....

Sokee... I was at my friends house last night for trick or treating and she had that same wine! :) I'm not much for seasonal drinks usually. I just stick with my usual favorites all year long. Oh... well, except this summer I tried a recipe for Sangria and put a bunch of fresh fruit in it and it was so good that I made it several times when I had friends over.

ohhh al this talk about food and drink I shouldn't be even reading....
I don;t like Eggnog, I don't like champagne, and most definitely do not like beer.
I do like the cider we have in South America (which we only drink in Christmas & New Year or wedding) but I really dislike the English cider.... to me, is difficult to drink these days as with the Molotov cocktail of meds I'm on....lets say I still want to keep the only brain cell I have left LOL

Courtney...that Orange Julius is also good with some banana and strawberries thrown into the mix.

Funny story about the Witches Brew...from a Michigander. My husband had tried it once at a get together, and so he decided to try it on his own. We took it up north to my sister and her husband's cabin in the woods, figuring it would be the perfect drink on a cold late fall evening. It is supposed to be really good served warm and that is how he had tried it. I don't know if it is because he is male and just doesn't use the kitchen that often, or if he is just impatient, but he BOILED the wine. Basically cooking out all of the alcohol as well as filling the room with FUMES that made your eyes water and nose freak out! It was HORRIBLE, and we had just reminisced this night and laughed so hard, so it is funny to me that you just posted this thread!

Oh, @MrsPeel - I totally know what you mean! Medicated sister in suffering here (LOL!) - I miss alcohol. Like hard cider and gluhwein and velvet rootbeers - that's rootbeer, vodka, and chocolate syrup mixed together, OMG! - and mimosas ... now, it's not even worth drinking for how sick it makes me feel. Just call me the designated driver for life. <sigh>

On the other hand, I've developed my signature non-alcoholic drink they can serve me in a pretty glass: equal parts pineapple juice and orange juice mixed with Sprite or 7-Up. Bonus points if they add a cherry and a little dribble of the maraschino juice. I just need a catchy name for it, like "The Bubbly Redhead". :rollin

ohhhhhhh LOVE the idea!!!! may try make it!!!
what I do sometimes is drink tomato juice with salt, pepper & lemon juice, and try imagining I am in a cheap pub where they put very little vodka to the Bloody Mary LOL

I use to drink spirits, and the Brazilian version of mimosas/mojitos : caipirinha, which is made with sugar cane alcohol called cachaca (the last c sound as an s as it is the with the little thing on the bottom but have no idea how to do it in this keyboard) limes chopped in little bits and mashed a bit with sugar with a mortar, delicious!!! some people have it with vodka instead. Another drink I liked was Baileys, Tia Maria and Amaretto di Saronno...
I'm definitely going to try your Bubbly Redhead!! it applies to me too (though my red comes from the bottle LOL)

I love Pumpkin Egg Nog this time of year. They always carry it at Safeway & my 8yr old & I can finish it off fast. At Christmas, my aunt makes a great Hot Toddy.
In summer, I like Mike's hard lemonade every now & then. I drink Arnold Palmer's year round.

Another Michigander here. I've never tried Witches Brew, but I see it all the time. (I was going to say "even now", but I just realized Halloween was *only* a week ago, so I guess it isn't strange that I saw it at the grocery store *last Tuesday*.) I normally drink white wine, so a dark bottle doesn't appeal to me, but now I'm thinking I should try it.

I tried a wine one year that I wish I had saved the bottle. It had a black cat on the label and was a blend of pinot grigio and riesling and I *really* loved it. I've been looking for it every Halloween since then (about three years) and haven't been able to find it. I can't remember who made it or what the name of the wine was (so I can't do an internet search) -- I just keep hoping I'll recognize the bottle.
