I fancy myself speaking a bit with an English accent, a twist of Irish and a bit more.
I even told the lady at the store I was a bit chuffed to finally get my coffee.
The food looked ever so good, some scary to this American taste.
I didn't even get hurt when they made "American" pie and talked about how they were all too sweet. I think I felt more British by the end, and need to make some shoe pastry and see if I too can get away without a soggy bottom!

I haven't watched it, and I'm not going to.

Eating low carb to lose weight and **SOB** no pies for me.

And I would even take one with a soggy bottom at this point. bwahahahahaha

I would gain weight just watching it!

Joining the low carb wagon with you this weekend. I totally get it. We've had no bread in the house this week and I was going nuts. It was a good prelude.

@AnneofAlamo We have watched one season via PBS this fall. And we watched the Great British Holiday Bake-Off last winter. How did you see all those seasons?! They're not all available on Netflix or Amazon Instant. Boo hoo!

Girl. My hubby was eating pretzels last night. He says, wow, these are really good.

**insert sarcastic voice**

I was like, um, really, are they really good? Are they crispy and salty and yummy? Are you enjoying them?

Then I started laughing. I really didn't want pretzels that badly, but ugh, it's so hard. Carbs are everywhere!

My hubby eats constantly. And usually popcorn. Feel free to message me if it gets to be too much. I'm trying to find a low carb snack. AUCK.

shoe pastry
or choux pastry? :giggle
DO IT! Make an eclair or my favorite, cream puffs! You'll be amazed when you do at how easy it was.

I get thrown off on that show when they talk about biscuits and show cookies! OR when they do the pie episodes, and it's usually a savory pie. I love expanding my kitchen knowledge with it! And I need to search Youtube for it.

yep CHOUX - unless it's tough as old boots then SHOE (leather) pastry is accurate i guess

we eat biscuits in Oz too (or bikkies mostly, i think we shorten any word we can) - unless they are choc chip and then they are basically cookies but i'm not sure what the distinction is

And if you ask for a pie in any Aussie shop, it'll be a minced meat (ground beef) variety...

i think carrot/celery sticks and a handful of nuts might be lower calorie than pepperoni and any cheese...

we watch this on pbs every week. We sit around practicing our English accents to each other while it's on.. lol. Ever so much fun, don't you know?..

glad you enjoyed it, it's one of my favourite programmes but unfortunately the bbc have lost the rights to a commercial channel so it wont be on next year and probably wont be the same when it comes back (3 of the 4 presenters have quit!)

I love The Great British bake Off - they haven't played the latest season here yet so have been closing my eyes every time I see anything to do with it on social media. Won't be the same once BBC loses it.

However I have been getting my fill with the Australian version, so hard to watch without eating/craving food though...

I haven't seen it but I hear it's good. I'm not much of a baker/dessert person so this might not be one for me to watch.
