Registered the Munchkin for Kindergarten

I must be the worst mom in the world because I'm always happy to ship my kids off to school. Sure I love them and they love me, but I need a break from them and they need a break from me. I'm a much better mom once I've had some me time. lol

Nah, you just don't have an only child. Lol.

He was hilarious! He said school is too long, so he got really tired. But he didn't want to lay down his head because he didn't want to go down the clip chart. Lunch was good because he got a grilled cheese and chocolate milk! But he needs to take lunch tomorrow, so he can show off his lunch pail. He said some kids were mean to one of his friends, because it's the first day, and he's 6 - so everyone is his friend! And he got to build with blocks, but some boy wanted to break them.
He trickled out information all night long.

Me? I'm still unpacking, so right now it's kinda nice having him busy during the day.

I totally thought about this. The getting on the bus I'm not worried about, it's the getting home. But we were able to see the blue bands this morning, so he knows what color to look for. Plus, I grilled him on making sure he tells his teacher he's riding the bus, and to give her the paper! Since she did the same for me to fill out her papers from last night, I'm sure she'll be looking.

I love to hear the stories from the kids. What was important to them and how they get along. Yay for a kid concerned about his friend. That's such a great quality. So glad he had a good day. That's a long time for a little kid.

I didn't read all the other posts, but I can imagine they have said better than I could ever...but as a "late" mum (I had Sarita I was almost 37- I think LOL) I know the feeling....
Sarita started something they call Nursery here when she was 2.... it was first 3 hours in the morning, then progressively went up until she did from 9:30 to 15:00....
Her dad was diagnosed that year and I was working long hours so I think she found it easier than us.... I think I cried the 3rd day when they told us we could go... they allow parents to stay first couple of days just in case.... she was delighted knowing some of the kids from or building...the she started school when we were leaving in Brazil, which was easier for me as it was a very small village and it was easy going I could go watch from the school garden...
but her being my only..... I know the feeling.
Now, we need to learn to let go...Sarita starts Uni tomorrow......
