My phone just reminded me I have 25 updates to apps that I 'need' to install. I procrastinate updating apps all the time. Partially because some of them seem to update weekly for no reason, and partially because some of them break when they update.
I also check on programs to see if people are complaining about compatibility or features before I update them.

How about you? Does your computer and phone automatically update? Do you prefer manual updates? Do you have a bunch of updates waiting?

oooooooooooooh I am so horrible. I work on a PC desktop, and leave it on ALL the time. I try to shut down at least once a week and the updates will go then. but................usually, I lose internet, or everything goes soooooooooo slow that I know I need to shut down and let a restart for updates happen! lol

My phone has 19 updates via Google apps, and like 10 from Amazon apps lol.
DH has my Microsoft Office set to auto update, but I haaaate it. (I keep forgetting to switch it to "manual check for updates.") I feel like with my computer programs, I finally get 100% comfortable with the software and then BAM, they make changes to it. :badputer But I'm still running PS CS 3 lol so I guess that tells you how much I don't like to change my software. :)

My computer does not auto update, I manually do that. My phone is set to auto update when it's plugged in and charging :)

Almost everything is set to auto update, but if it asks me to approve or accept new permissions, I'm totally lazy and skip that part, so it ends up being procrastination. Lol

I do the updates because eventually there is no avoiding them. If an update breaks a phone app I just ditch the whole thing, but for my windows and office updates, I figure it's like taking terrible tasting medicine. I try to get it over with as quickly as possible, and make the best of or fix whatever damage is done.

My iPhone automatically updates. My iMac asks me whether it's a good time first.

My phone updates automatically, for the most part. It seems like there are always a few apps and things I have to update manually. My computer automatically updates also, but if something pops up asking me, I almost always click "remind me later" or "no", until I get tired of it popping up.

My computer is auto but I have to update my iPhone, which I don't do until my dd yells at me when she sees all the tiny numbers next to my apps. Oh well------

I'm a procrastinator for sure. Drives my son crazy... he has his apps set to auto update. I personally like to read what's changing before I update. Usually not so I can decide whether to update or not, but so I know what new features to look for.

It's pretty much all auto for me. I don't like updates to slow me done so I like it when they happen when I'm not around to even know they are happening. When I worked, I always had to update first so I'd identify problems for others to look for. Of course, I always got the newest hardware and software to try out too. :funfun

I usually wait a little bit for software updates. This is just in case there are issues after the update, I try to give it some cushion room to make corrections. App updates are automatic.

OK, this is a total sidetrack, but here goes lol.
I refuse to look at my mom's phone. My brother got our parents each an iPhone for Christmas a few years ago. The first time I saw my parents after they got their iPhones, I gave them our wifi password and then my mom had a question. I denied some permissions (like location) cuz she has facebook and that app's permissions scare me (yes I sound paranoid but that doesn't mean I'm wrong). Anyway, after that--even though I didn't TOUCH facebook or any of the actual apps--she blames me for "messing up her facebook" cuz a week later(!) facebook "looked different." OK, well, I'm sorry: That's called "auto update," and if you don't like the way your timeline now looks, yell at facebook, not at your daughter. She didn't tell me "don't allow auto update" so I didn't turn it off--granted she probably didn't know what an update was, let alone an auto update, but still! I tried explaining it to her but she wouldn't listen. So I texted my brother and said "YOU gave them the phones so now YOU teach them how to use them." :banghead

And once I held my dad's phone to take a selfie with him and DS and I used the volume button. He was all wide-eyed and asked "how'd you do that?!" I was like "magic." :dancebun LOL

I am a type-A, planny-plannerson. I CANNOT have notifications on my phone- as soon as I see them- they have to be tended to! ;) Usually most of mine update automatically (only when over wi-fi) but I cannot stand to have the blinking light.

My sister on the other hand... her facebook had notifications all over the place & she is just fine not looking at them. That my friends explains the difference in our personalities- she is very laid back, go with the flow. I am NOT like that at all! ;) lol!

My mom had done this too! Blamed me for making an app work different!

Yep. I use the Web browser on my phone. So I miss a lot of private messages because FB is trying to force me to use the messenger app. Which means I just use FB less.

I use the Facebook app as well as Facebook Messenger and nothing evil has happened. Most access they request are the same other apps need as well, but the other apps don't ask you for permission. I figure they're data farming us all into oblivion anyway, no matter how secure or secret we think we are . . .

As far as update or procrastinate . . . it depends. If I'm in the middle of something, then I'll definitely procrastinate. Most everything auto updates except for a few anyway. I'm talking about my phone here. As far as computer, I check out what the updates are. I updated a driver for my graphics card and the darn thing totally screwed up my ability to use Photoshop. I reverted and STILL haven't updated that graphics card and it's been 3 months. LOL

I had to turn the auto update of as I couldn't upgrade system in the old one. as I couldn't scrap if I upgraded, but now with the new, I think I will turn on auto update again...
