Least Favorite Chore |Pad Patter 6.1

I don't even have to look up... mine is ironing, we have an ironing board and two irons.... new, never been used. last time I used one, was for a wedding I think in 2007!!!!!! then the iron broke, U forgot about it, someone gave us an iron ...never used it, then we got one because of a girl who was moving out of London, has not been used either!!!!

now I read you guys....
windowcleaning for sure! :giggle
I used to love it!!!!! now it hurts too much so I can't do it..... :(

EVERYTHING! With two boys & a man-child, things can just get so gross. There's always something to wash, dry, fold, iron, scrub, dust, etc...Grr!
:rofl:rofl
when Sarita gets famous (or I won the lottery!!!!) I will get you home help!!!!! :heartlub

I am a weird weird woman, I love to clean. I put on youtube videos of hoarders and listen to them as I toss and rearrange my home. I enjoy the whole process. The smell of bleach is pure glorious to my senses! lol.
but............
I hate putting the silverware away out of the dishwasher...I don't even know why.

I was like that... I would put some very very loud music (usually sister act!) and get on and LOVED to see how everything was beautiful and tidy...... more even so because all the re decoration in here it was just us who made it...even when Sarita was 7 ir 8 she would paint walls and plan with me, so I had house pride....
My problem now is that I physically can't :(
That is my worse issue with Sarita, she is lazy and procastinates, and I can't stand un tidy or drty.... but I have to fight with her to get her to do it.... :(

Oh how I wish you needed another daughter. My mom used to be that way and she would help me catch up.

Least favorite chore?
All of them. Partly because I'm so behind with the injured knee and depression, also my husband is Mr Fussy and he has to redo it. But if it's his idea it doesn't get done.
does he do it if you ask him to? because my mian problem with Sarita (as above) is that she leaves things for the very last minute...and then I went into a break down already ....
Andy was amazing, he would do so much, cook, clean, tidy up everything appart from a whole bunch of paper work he had under the sofa....from work, for tx return...every time I tried to move or tidy it up, he would have a go at me LOL

No, how dare I expect him to do more? What's worse if I set up a new system for doing something (like the mail) he won't do it and ruins my system.

I was going to say toilets- but my lil 5 yr old loves to help me clean them & does a good job (especially since he's the main culprit when it comes to dirty-ing them!) ;)

But- far worse than that is cleaning our hardwood floors that you can't use anything on. And our ENTIRE 1st level is all hardwoods (living room, kitchen, entry, half bath & office/craft room.) Im so frustrated with them. Damp cloths do nothing & we have messy kids & a shedding dog. Ugh... last time I cleaned them on my hands & knees with a rag. They need done again & I'm dreading it!:disagree

^^^ This. But I have a man-child, a grandson and a daughter who is a slob. I don't have the energy or physical stamina to do it all, all of the time. I do it in spurts.

Matching socks...no patience for it. LOL My husband knows the leftover pile is his to handle.

This is one of the only things I *don't* mind. :giggle Mostly because I'm extremely anal about having the particular dinginess and/or the faded color of the socks match up. My husband has about a billion black socks in different stages of fading. I lay them out in a long stretch on the table and match them up by shade. My daughter's not-so-white socks are the same. Although the last time I did her socks, there was an entire full load of just her socks, so I left them in a basket. She'll just grab two out and wear them... not caring at all if one is way grungier looking than the other. *shudder*

I don't like cooking. I know how to cook and it's always good, but trying to figure out what to make for dinner is the worst! Everyone here is so picky that it's rare I can come up with something everyone will eat. Recently I decided to give each family member a night to cook and do fend for yourself nights on the other 2 days. It's not perfect, but at least everyone gets something they like once a week and the best part is that I didn't have to cook it. ;)

This is my biggest problem area lately. I have the same issue where no one wants to eat the same thing, and my hubby is horribly old-fashioned and picky (meat and potatoes). Figuring it all out, shopping for it, cooking everything from scratch and all of that just really drains me. We were eating out once a week (on Fridays) since I threw a hissy fit about cooking EVERY night. And now that Kennedy's dad takes him on Wednesdays, Tim and I grab something as an adult evening out, so there are two nights I don't have to cook. And if I can strategize, planning one of the 3-4 things Tim will actually cook on a weekend, I can move it to three nights. :giggle My best friend (who has MS) and I commiserate about this all of the time, but her hubby is a little more evolved than mine. :giggle

Windows and dusting blinds. I can't keep my eyes from seeing how badly they are in need of cleaning but I just don't have the energy at the moment.

Anything I haven't done myself, LOL!! I am a bit of a control freak, and my family do their best, but it gives me shivers up my spine when I find things not done properly. Clothes folded wrong (they actually need to be folded a certain way or the don't fit, sigh), dishes and cups and things in their wrong places, etc. I don't particularly like to have to do everything myself, but I feel a lot less stressed when I do.

Ugh. I hate cleaning. I ALWAYS have something else I'd rather be doing. Good thing we have people over often, otherwise I'm quite sure I'd never clean a thing! :giggle But... if I have to pick one thing, probably the showers. Especially the standup one in the master bath with it's glass doors. Yuck. Too many crevices!

Dusting!!!!! I am weird I like to clean bathrooms!!!!

I was going to say toilets- but my lil 5 yr old loves to help me clean them & does a good job (especially since he's the main culprit when it comes to dirty-ing them!)

I hate bathrooms. I grew up with boys, and now I live with them. I've never understood how they can get a bathroom so dirty, and I'm the one with the long hair! Once I got married, I gave the bathroom chore to my husband and never looked back. Now he is teaching the boy to do it.

Everyone here is so picky that it's rare I can come up with something everyone will eat.

I have the same issue where no one wants to eat the same thing,

After reading a blog post by Jenny Rosenstrach (Dinner, a love story) I have a new definition of eating the same thing. Tuesday I made chicken piccata. Nick had it with the buttered noodles, corn on the cob, and chicken with the sauce on top. I had it with the noodles, corn on the cob, and just dipped the chicken in the sauce since I don't like too much lemon sauce. Matthew had the noodles with parmesan cheese, and the chicken with no sauce, and carrot sticks. The plates looked different, but we all had components we would eat. And the changes were so minor, they didn't add extra time.

Handwashing dishes and bathrooms. Between hubby and our 3 boys, they can get our 2 bathrooms really gross, really quickly. I can't figure out a way to get them to clean them since they make the majority of the mess without sounding like a b**ch, so...Yay me! :P Summer break is going to bring about lots of changes around here though lol These guys need to be afraid :giggle

our house here gets dusty every day, no matter how deep you clean today, it will covered witrh dust tomorrow again... :( I don;t really LIKE cleaning ...but right now? I wish I could be doing the cleaning....it really annoys me to see dusat everywhere :( @jenn mccabe my blinds are on a right on state.... I even got this thingy that you can clean many bits at the timne...but have no energy to go for it :(

I hate cleaning the bathtubs and toilets! My hubby vacuums, mops the kitchen floor, and does the laundry! I must hate dusting too -- because it definitely needs to be done!

Ironing. But I pretty much eliminated that years ago with my steam dryer. Maybe moving furniture to clean behind. Makes me realize how old I'm getting....

If you have children and animals in the house, it's a lost cause but it does end! I was fortunate enough to have servants (overseas) for most of the years that I had those two categories.

Growing up, my Nana who lived with us did the cleaning but I did all the straightening up before she cleaned. So in effect, my poor mother who was the main bread winner didn't have to clean but she did all the hard stuff. Stripping and re-waxing all the hardwood floors, painting rooms etc. My father took care of the cars and polished shoes.

If any of you are in a position to ever replace a toilet and have some spare money get a wall hung one. NO bottom part to clean for those males from 3 to 73 who cannot pee without having some run down the side. Disgusting! We have one now and you just spray the whole toilet and floor..swish away! I want to replace the 2nd one but just haven't got round to it.

I still dislike emptying the dishwasher and it reverts back to me when my husband is away. Otherwise it's his job. For most everything else we have help every other week. It was a decision we made early into our marriage 15 years ago when we were both working. Now we're not working but it's a luxury we can afford and it makes for peace in the house. I still do all the straightening up and the laundry which I do enjoy. A small load goes into the washer each night timed for the am and it's either in the dryer when I'm doing am mail or out on the line as soon as the sun is in the back yard. I fold and put away every thing but his clothes. I used to do that too but when I had my knee replaced I taught him to do laundry. The instructions are still on a card on the front of the washer! just in case. :) Now his stuff is in a basket on the bed to be put away which he does. Gladly.
