Left or Right |Pad Patter 5.21

I'm a righty from a family of lefties. Mostly I can do things with both hands, including writing backwards and forwards, but everyday tasks I favor my right hand.
 
I'm a righty through and through. Doing anything with my left hand is a disaster.

Yet I was forced to begin using my left hand after I had a partial amputation of a finger on my right hand until it healed. I couldn't do ANYTHING. You should've seen my attempt at handwriting. I could write BACKWARDS just fine, nice and clear. Unfortunately, no one in my office could read backwards writing. :lmaoGo figure. I've gotten use of my right hand again, having to adapt for a short finger, but I still use my left hand for some things.

Now, my son is ambidextrous. It's not surprising since I have both maternal and paternal grandfathers who were ambidextrous. Sometimes he eats with his right, sometimes his left. He writes with his right, but will hammer with his left. It really became evident when he was in Tae Kwon Do - he's right hand dominant and left foot dominant. They'd tell him to do a hit/kick combination using his dominant side, and he'd do a right/left combo. Threw them for a loop. It was quite funny to see the Master's face when I told him, so they always had to make sure to say "right side" or "left side" with him from then on. Never a dull moment with him.
 
I'm a rightie as well as my hubby and children. In fact, I would be hard pressed to tell you of someone I know in real life (family and friends) who is left handed. I just can't even think of ONE.
 
I am right handed, but left-footed! I used to figure skate, and I jump and spin in the opposite direction from most people. I also snowboard "goofy" (left foot forward). If I try to go right foot forward, it's just all a mess.

I'm a righty and so is my hubby and both my boys. But my Mom is a leftie. We have to be careful how we sit at a table. Somehow my Mom taught me how to crochet right handed too even though she does it left handed. They tried and tried to force her to write right handed in grade school, but she just kept switching back to left handed.
 
I'm a righty and so is the hubby and daughter. :-)
 
Everyone in my immediate family and my parents and siblings are all right handed. I don't know for sure about extended family.
 
We are a right-handed family. At least I *think* that's how it will end as M (22 months) seems to favor her right too.
 
We are all right handed here. Although my youngest daughter still likes to switch her hands when writing and eating. She's almost 6. She does better with her right hand, but seems okay with her left hand. Since she doesn't have great fine motor skills I'm trying to help her focus on just using her right hand and mastering it.

My twin brother is left handed. I heard that sometimes twins will be opposite.

My husband is left and blue, but my son is left and brown eyed.

Yep. My FIL was left handed, and rumor has it so was his dad.

This made me giggle a little bit. Is he creative too? Or the opposite?
 
I'm right handed and my kids are as well. My DH writes with his left hand but we think he was supposed to be a lefty. He writes with his right hand at a odd angle and does most things with his left hand.
 
I'm not a lefty but my son is. I guess my husband's mom and her brother are both lefties. My hubby and daughter are both righties.
 
I am a leftie, as is my father and my only sibling (younger brother). My mom is a rightie and she was always the weird one in our family! My husband is right-handed as are all of my kids, but my youngest is left-footed in gymnastics and tends to do things to the left easier than to the right. I was hoping one of my kids would be a leftie, so I will take her gymnastics leftie skills!

Me too, but more lefty than righty! Hubby is right handed, Melody is left handed, and it is too soon to tell with Bellamy, though he is showing signs of being ambidextrous too.
 
Me, my mom, and my bio-dad are right handed. My sister (same parents) is left handed. My youngest half sister (my dad had 3 kids with my stepmom) is also left handed, so I'm guessing the lefties come from his side. My (step, but REAL father who raised me and my sister) is also left handed. My sister's oldest is left handed. All 3 of mine are right handed. I'm actually surprised we didn't get a lefty as my husband's dad and brother are lefties. He and his mom are right handed.

ohhh I can very well understand his passion for his guitar... I only got married to Sarita's dad at 34 years old... (we had been together for 3 years) because I was a performer and couldn't give more importance to love than to my job.... but I guess it was I had not found the right guy....
I think Sarita is that way too, she had a few boyfriends 2 serious relationships, meaning the boys came home, they did lots together, but she is determined to make it in her profession (performing arts too~) she also says (and this is SUCH a pride for me) that most boys are more interested in the physical side of things than the spiritual so she is no hurry to waste her time... congrats on him getting engaged! love the page btw!!!

you know I had never thought until now that people could be different orientation with hands or feet...but now you guys mention this...the more I think it the more I see I know lots of people with this thing....Sarita did ice skating and I can see now that at least 2 of her friends were left foot based.... do you still skate?
I cried the day I had to take Sarita out of practice.... I loved it... but here we don't have so much as you have in the USA and it was getting painfully expensive :(

sigh.... 22 months? I thought time was supposed to slow down when i got older....but it's flying!!!! it seems to me that was a couple of months ago she was born!!!!!!!! in one way, is great, because it means I have you in our lives for longer!!!
