April Fool's Day is tomorrow!!
Do you do anything?
tee hee
oh we have a small group bible study and silly folks asked me to bring dessert!
Oreos!
We will be unstuffing them and filling with toothpaste! bwhahahha

and my oldest son...who didn't think mom was right about driving the legal limit, is ONE ticket away from losing his job. So he drives like a little ol' lady (wait that is me..he drives like me now) and a year ago, he had 2 tickets but he went to court. The officer did not show up, so they dropped the tickets. Well, tee hee, the judge retired and so, I am using that story to tell that a letter is here from the court, and I accidently opened it. I have this legal envelope. I will tell him that they are reviewing all his cases, and he has to reappear for the tickets...
when he gets here, I give him the envelope filled with paper that all say

April Fools Eric!

snort!

Do you have any dastardly deeds planned!?

I hadn't thought of the fact it's April Fools Day, but in the past I've had some fun. My best trick ever was around 1997, when I made my husband a chocolate cake. I felt so bad because he looked so pleased to see it sitting on the table. Unfortunately, when he went to slice it, the knife wouldn't cut through the styrofoam I'd used instead of actual cake underneath the yummy chocolate frosting. He has a good sense of humor, thankfully! :D

I'm glad I'm not going to be getting one of your Oreo cookies. Yuck! :P

I wonder if they've planned any trickery for the homeschooling conference I'm attending tomorrow. I'll watch out. :)

Oh Goodness! No oreos for me, thanks! You are a tough practical joker, and a clever one too - poor Eric! I hope you guys get a good laugh from it all or record it! Sounds hilarious!

We've done the "brown E's" for my boys previously, and eyes on everything in the fridge, and other little things... but they won't be back until Saturday! I have a couple ideas I want to do, maybe I'll have to use their birthday's as an excuse! :giggle I totally want to do a styrofoam cake now!!!

You are so much fun Anne! I totally forgot it will be 'April's Fool' day until you mentioned it.

I LOVE oreos!

I have been trying to think of something this year for my grand kids. I don't see them until a lot later in the day, so I try to think of something to tell them on the phone. In the past it was things like the cat got out and caught a bird, there was a bird in the house, things like that. it is raining now and supposed to storm tonight. If it does, I am thinking of calling them in the morning and telling them one of our trees came down and crashed into the roof :)

Yes, I thought BYOC too. I know it's going to be an awesome one yet again - there goes the budget.
April Fools isn't something we celebrate.
Here's wishing you all a great one!

A little froggy (Bart) told me that there was a post on the blog about April Fools' Day prankery!

You'll see a few of our kid friendly pranks there. I am interested in know if anyone has had a prank go wrong? #aprilfoolsdayfail

I have had a few duds. I tried freezing the cereal and a spoon in a bowl of milk. Maybe it's because my kids are young and were too foggy from sleep, but they were like... huh?? :(

We have done the brown E's too! The kids loved replaying that prank on their dad, and giggled so hard explaining it to him. I cannot for the life of me find the photos. It might have been a "just because" prank and I am a little behind on tagging photos. cough cough
So I guess we'll just have to have a do over on that prank.

I'm not a big prankster. I think I got spoiled for these things when I was small and my brothers would think up rather mean "pranks" for me. like colluding to cheat me in games or at cards. I have a very dry sense of humor, and love a funny - but pranks directed at someone - no. I do not think its fun to scare someone (even slightly), worry someone, or even just trick someone. ...

I'm the same!

I totally didn't realize it until I read this thread! I don't usually plan anything. I will make little jokes throughout the day with my kids....but then they catch on and start doing it. Not sure I'm a fan of that. LOL!

lol. That's hilarious, Anne!! I don't have anything planned. I'm not creative in that way. But I will be aware of other tricksters out there! ;)

The last April Fool's joke I played was telling my dad I was pregnant. I don't know why I thought that would be funny (I was married and we were trying, but no one knew that). Anyway, he cried. Sheesh. So, um, I kinda burned my own self with that one. :giggle

I did recover because on Father's Day that same year, just a couple of months later, I was able to tell him for real that I was pregnant.

Yeah, that was 20 years ago, and I still don't like to play jokes or have them played on me.

Yeah, I'd have to hurt someone if they did this to me! :disagree
