DisneyLAND planner?

Has anyone here either made or seen a DisneyLAND planner? I've found a lot online for WDW, but not Land. My daughter and I are planning an all out Disneyland trip over spring break. We've gone several times before, but this will be our first long trip. Since we're getting the 5 day pass, we wanted to keep track of some of the shows, sights, experiences, food, etc. that we've missed in the past on our shorter trips. So maybe it's not so much a planner as it is a reference tool that I want to make so we know when and where the extra things we want to do are. Does that make sense? I have a plan forming, but I get stuck on things like whether to categorize things by type or by location. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
 
I've never seen a land planner. I assume that's because land is smaller?

What I did, and do, every time we go to the parks is break out Excel. I put the dates across the top. The first lines under is each park, and the opening/closing times. Then down the left side I put the categories of things (shows, food, special events, etc). Then I stick the time under the day. I use a key (DL, CA, DD) next to the item so I know where it is. Print and laminate a copy for each person and carry around with us. It's my quick reference card and super easy to use and carry, even if we decide to only use what fits in our pockets for the day.

A line might look like:
Carsland Music On (And under everyday) Sunset
Fantasmic Fireworks 1100 900 1200 (making up the times here)

For WDW, I categorize by location. For Disneyland, I categorize by desire, as in how badly I wanted to see/do it.

I'm intrigued to see a Disneyland Planner!
 
Thanks @bestcee! That gives me a place to start. I'm thinking a little planner made with 4x6 notecards (hopefully printed with some of @sahlink's project mouse cards). We're just going to be there so many days that I want to have options at the ready so we don't burn out.

Britt and I DO have a Project Mouse planner version collection planned "to-do".
But I'm thinking it won't get tackled till spring-time. <wink>
 
I feel like I saw some on Pinterest when I was planning our trip last June. But, I didn't actually pin any of them. Sorry, I'm no help. Have fun at Disneyland. I'd live in Cars Land if I could.
 
I have clearly been doing Disney wrong all these years. I've never once "planned" my Disney trip as an adult, and don't remember my mom ever doing that, in the 20+ times she's been to Disney or took us. Maybe when she did our WDW trip. but I think all we got was planning which park on which days.

We are planning to take the kids next year (April '17) for their birthdays (they'll be 5 and 4). I'm fascinated with this idea of planning Disney though. So please... go on.... teach me your ways, oh wise ones :giggle :drool:notworthy

The first few times I went to Disneyland we didn't plan at all. When we did WDW it was such a big deal, and a couple of times in a lifetime experience (we've only been twice), that we planned it out. We didn't want to miss anything.
When we took my son (3.5) we planned out the Disneyland trip. We wanted to make sure we hit the big things for him to see, and we knew we needed to plan a rest time. Carsland was new, and required planning because it was busy. We didn't plan minute by minute, but more an overview like I said above - when the parades were, the fireworks, and the character meal. The early morning open was important for Carsland so we planned that.

Which park are you going to?

I've only been to WDW one time ever in my life. My youngest sister was not old enough to go with us, so I'm thinking I must have been around 12 yrs old.
 
I'm absolutely no help. I'm kind of with @klee73010 on this one, although it's been a looooooooooooooong time since I've been to WDW but we never planned anything. Which may be why I am not really interested in going back :giggle I mostly remember a lot of walking and things being expensive. Although I'm about a million times more likely to go to Paris or WDW than California, this has got me thinking there's a better way to do this thing!
 
We've never planned at all for any of our trips to DL or WDW before this one. I'm not really planning per se on this one either. I just want to have something at the ready that gives us options throughout the day. I will have to do some planning with this new reserved "seating" for the parades/fireworks that's tied to a dinner package thing. But for the most part, this will just be a reference tool. First off we're trying to make a "bucket list" of must do things... treats to try, rides we missed last summer, etc. We've lost time in the past wandering around from restaurant to restaurant trying to decide what to eat.. I would like to make a cheater card with some of the places in each area with their specialities, so I can check that vs. aimless wandering. We also know that since it's spring break, it will probably get really crowded especially at mid-day, so we've been working on some things to do when it's crowded... like collect all of the 60th anniversary pressed pennies (I have the list of all of the pressed penny machines in the park and which designs they have), get fortunes from the three fortune telling machines in the park, take a drawing lesson in DCA, or finding some of the hidden stuff (we've been watching a youtube channel that has "forgotten" stuff, like the old ticket booths for the rides). Clara's 14 and it's just me and her so this trip will be different than any other that we've previously taken.
