Jan. 18: Art Journal (Style Challenge)

This is my poor attempt at a visual rendering of the angel described in Revelation 10. (studying Revelation in BSF - a community bible study I attend) OH, and I just realized that I forgot stitches so I'll have to fix it and repost.

such a fun challenge! Loved it! Thank you, Li Li!

@misslovescraps do we have to use those 4 elements listed in point 1 : 1. PAINTS, SPLATTERS, GESSO, STAMPS

If so could you show us what gesso is... sorry I tried to use google translation to have the wording in French but didn't find anything :-(

Sorry you've already answered this on page 3 you say ALL elements and page 4 you linked to some GESSO products here at The Pad...
off to try something new :-)

I turned my gesso blue and pink, but besides that I think it's all good. Hope it works, please let me know if it doesn't qualify! I'm really surprised by how much I like this page after all, I was sure it wasn't my style but I was able to make it work for me!

ok, I have NEVER done a page like this. This really stretched me out of my comfort zone. Give me a 2 pager, 1000 words of journaling or a pocket page and I'll be happy, but this took me forever. I also used my "fill the paint with a photo" technique I learned from the other day, so two things on this page that I've never done before this month.

And after reading all the posts, I realized I didn' thave all 4 from bullet one there, so am redoing.

ok, I've got it now I believe
1. PAINTS, SPLATTERS, GESSO, STAMPS - painted paper, 2 splatters, the gesso is there, visible over the skateboarders legs, but there are 3 more splattered on there, and I stamped some stars, and a mimic of both the boys
2. STITCHES - the heart is stitches
3. DOODLES - I think that's obvious. LOL
4. ELEMENTS - word art and ribbon and the #11
5. A FACE OR FACES - 3 of them
6. Title or Quote - my little Tween quote :)

This was real hard. And it's cropped of me photobombing my DD's photo... yikes!

1. PAINTS, SPLATTERS, GESSO (YOU CAN USE REPLACE IT WITH WHITE PAINTS ), AND STAMPS ( ALL OF THESE ARE REQUIRED) The gesso is white, behind the lighter blue paint splatter/spray. The stamp is the "Amazing"
2. STITCHES - on the stitched banner and holding the photo reel at the bottom of the page.
3. DOODLES - the doodled stars
4. ELEMENTS
5. A FACE OR FACES from a photo OR IT CAN BE AN ELEMENT (EG : A BRUSH OF A FACE) - That's me!

ALL OF IT!! The more the merrier.. :)

I just saw this and then your post explaining that gesso is white paint. I didn't know and did a search in the store and saw it looked like paint, so I just used paint. I hope you're not going to disqualify my layout because I didn't use something officially called gesso . . . ? I don't understand how it's different than paint. You can see my layout in the previous post or maybe a few up if some new ones have posted.
