Jan. 18: Art Journal (Style Challenge)

I admit to knowing about this challenge a few days ago(in the backroom of the organizing the MOC), but I sat last night(after counting raisins) to do this...it was a joy to my heart, and I am bubbling over with pride at dear LiLi.
If you are struggling with a page, let it simmer in your head a bit..ponder faces for a day, go thru your photos, find a face that makes your heart smile....then just play, you never ever have to print it, never have to show another living soul...but you might find that the process of making the page sneaks into your every day scrapping and you feel even a wee bit more freedom!

Scared!! This is so not my style. Not even sure I have stuff in my stash that will work with this style. Yikes!! Going to bed...will have to look at this more tomorrow!! :hummm

Oh the challenge I have been dreading.......Well, here goes....No stress right. Right? Right?!?! I have a feeling there may be a bit of stress for me. If I get this one done tonight though I am caught up until tomorrow that is. LOL Okay maybe I should have a meditation session first....Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

those that are stressed, there are many scrappers here that will hold your hand and walk you thru a layout. YOU can do this....if you get stuck, give a yell out, and we will meet ya in the chat room and give kind advice, and laugh with you..you can do this!

I don't have an artistic bone in my body so trying this digitally is going to be enough of a stretch for me but I'm not going to stress about it. I look forward to the challenge.
I never ever thought I would do art journal style pages. And low and behold in the 2014 MOC that darn Anne of Alamo did an art journal challenge and BOOM I was hooked. You may think you aren't artsy but you may be well surprised.

I've never done the art journal thing. Is there somewhere that we can find more examples of art journaling. I just feel a bit lost with this one.
There are also lots of samples in the mixed media monthly gallery. Or even if you go to the store and look at the samples with the M3 kits.

I did it! It helped to have some of Just Jaimee's stacks but I was surprised at what I could use in some of the other kits I have as well. Please let me know ASAP if this does not meet all the requirements. My eyes started to blur after a while. lol

you have all required parts on this, and what a wonderful layout
1. PAINTS, SPLATTERS, GESSO, STAMPS
2. STITCHES
3. DOODLES
4. ELEMENTS
5. A FACE from a photo OR IT CAN BE AN ELEMENT (EG : A BRUSH OF A FACE) as you can see from the page below, my main element has a face of a child which I used to blend it on the background.
6. Title or a Quote

Lately I've been thinking my kiddos are growing up way too fast! I don't do AJ pages often but I love them and they are usually really quick for me! I hope it's ok that I have more than one face...

Art journaling is really not my style, or my preferred style of scrapbooking. BUT- I have learned a TON from my scrapaneers champions clinics- one of which was all about art journaling/brushes/masking/blending etc. This layout surprisingly came together in under an hour! :D So- this is my 1st selfie of 2016 = Fresh start, new year, this is my year to accomplish my goals!
