Hello everyone! How did it get to be a 2016 and a new year already?!?!?

This month's blog challenge is a technique challenge: Blending Your Background.

We are going to be focusing on our background as the building block to our layout. We are going to make the background super special with a blend of at least 2 of Danyale’s gorgeous papers. Danyale is so amazing at making fabulous papers that are a perfect building block to your layouts, and now we are going to make them our own with some blending.
Head on over to Danyale's blog for more details, and we can't wait to see your beautiful pages!

I love blending backgrounds. I like to pick two interesting papers and try out the different blend modes on the top one to create a new, interesting background. I love the surprise that I often get that adds just the right touch to my page.

I had so much FUN with this! I only had one actual mask of Danyales, but I used a lot of her paint pieces as clipping masks, and a flower & a butterfly - I don't know how many different combos of blending modes I tried out, but I'm quite happy with the end results.

I really like how this came out.

These are wonderful!! I stumbled on blended backgrounds a while back quite by accident when I had one paper on top of another one. I was going to cut the top paper but accidently hit a wrong key, and viola!!! Some of the color in the top paper disappeared and I had a blended background!!! From there I started playing and now I LOVE blended backgrounds!!! Looking forward to doing this challenge!

That is me too, I especially like to use tone on tone patterned paper backgrounds so do this often to get the look I want. I'm really looking forward to playing along with this challenge.

I blended two papers for the back background (if you follow me) then more blending with the card paper and another solid paper to tone it down a little then added a further paper with the masking and changed the blending mode on that too. I also blended a woodgrain paper over the alpha.

Amazing creations everyone! I'm hoping to play along too! :-)
