So are you a fan? Are you looking forward to the upcoming new release? Have you seen the others? If you are going to see the new one, will you marathon the others prior? Do you have a favorite character? Is the Force strong with you?

I remember seeing the first movie in the theater when I was really little because it was a really big deal and my dad took us (which was sort of a peace offering because he and my mom had just divorced and him taking us to do fun things usually never happened). We got lost afterward and couldn't find where he'd parked his car (he was on drugs), so we were wandering around at night, downtown Tacoma (which really was a sketchy place). A couple finally took pity on us and drove us around in their car to find my dad's car. it was kind of a memorable experience. :giggle Growing up, I remember loving Yoda and not liking the Ewoks. My brother had Star Wars stickers, cards, etc. He stuck his stickers all over his bedroom door (on the outside... lol).

I really don't remember my daughter watching any of them, but she's sure she's seen them. We're going to have a family movie marathon next weekend to watch the first three before we go to see the new one that is coming out later in the month. Kennedy is totally excited about the whole prospect at the moment and is really into Darth Vader even though he knows nothing about him. The cool black suit probably helps. ;)

I went to one of them in 1976? 77, and got so cold with all the darkness and a/c I left early and waited for my brother and Dad at the library. Just never got into them....but one of my bestest friends, I send her gifts or a card on May 4th every year, cause she is gaga over SWs

Oh YES, Kimberlee!! and my story is similar to yours (except for the drugs & wandering in the parking lot part :huh that is memorable!). I think it may have been the first movie I ever saw in the theater with my Dad. Growing up I definitely had a crush on Han Solo.

DH and and I are both big fans! We already have a babysitter lined up for the weekend it releases. We introduced the girls to the movies last summer (the originals - episodes 4, 5 & 6) and they watched them all again on our recent Thanksgiving road trip. I'm not sure if I'll have time to watch them again before the release - but who knows.

I have seen pieces of them here and there but am not really a fan. My oldest daughter however has the movies memorized, a countdown on her phone that tells, down the the seconds mind you, when the new one is out, has an app on her phone that gives her the weather in "Star Wars" planets, etc.... Yes she is a huge fan. I really have no idea where it came from either because none of the rest of us are. She doesn't want to go see it when it first comes out though because she is just like me in that she hates crowds and there are sure to be BIG crowds. She is also scared that Disney is going to ruin it.

My son is taking me on a "movie date" on opening night to see it. I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan, probably seen the original 3 of them in the hundreds of times. I CAN'T WAIT!

We're big fans here. We've seen all 6 movies with the kids, but not recently, so maybe a movie marathon is in order. We're going to wait a while until the big crowds are past before going to see the new one.

I had not seen all of them until earlier this year, when hubby bought the 6-pack. We marathon watched them. We may do so again. Hubby is planning to go, and I don't have a preference if I go with him or not. :giggle
I don't mind them, but I'm not an uber-geek-Fandom girl. You won't find me at comic-con dressed up as Princess Leah, for instance (but Hermione Granger on the other hand....). :giggle

We are huge fans here!! None of us really liked the newer movies (the ones that are now 1, 2 and 3). We're all old school, so we're really looking forward to the new one. We have Ugly Star Wars Christmas sweaters to wear to the premier...we'll look completely goofy, but we'll be having fun! My son signed up to run in the Star Wars half marathon at Disneyland, and Star Tours is one of my favorite rides at Disneyland. I'm sure my boys will be watching all of them before we go, but with taking care of my dad right now, I just don't think I'll have the time.

Huge, HUGE fan! DH and I love the movies, though we haven't been able to get our kids into them. We tried a SW marathon on vacation over the summer and they weren't feeling the love. LOL Oh well. DH and I will definitely see the new movie on opening weekend. My brothers own their business and one of their clients is a movie theater. They got the theater to give a private showing to their employees on the night before the official open. So cool!

I'm not a fan but my eight year old son is obsessed with Star Wars. My brother lives an hour and a half away from us but he is driving down to take my son to watch the movie. My brother is also a huge Star Wars fan. They already have tickets for a December 19th showing. It melts my heart that my brother would do this for him. I love hearing the two of them talk Star Wars whenever they are together.

we just introduced our children to Star wars, and 2 of our older 3 LOVE it! there are plenty of Star Wars themed gifts in their stockings this Christmas! :)

That IS cool!! I'm slightly jealous. :)

I remember watching the very first one when it came out, in the cinema, and I loved it...until some people started calling me Princess leah....because I was doing a children's musical and my hair was too long and too hippie, so I would plait it and rollit around ...way before Star Wars.

the ones after... I never got to see them, my husband, Sarita's dad, was more a Dr Who or Blade Runner guy than Star Wars...and then in 2005 a friend of ours made us watch them all...was torture.

I love Star Trek, but never got into the Star Wars thing......

My kids are young enough that they would find the movies too scary. I know they have seen bits here and there and they can identify Darth Vader and stuff, but they're not ready for the whole thing. I'm sure DH and I will go to the new movie. He is a bigger fan than I am but I do like the original three.

Big fans of the first three - not so much the later ones - will be interesting to see how this lot go. I went to see the first Star Wars at our local drive in - I was hooked! It was the first year I watched the Oscars because I was sure it would win every category... such a nerd.

My younger brother has a thing against Chewie - thinks he's the most useless of side kicks ever - which makes all the rest of us love him more. guess what is kids are getting from their Auntie this year for christmas

Karen that Chewie is so great! I love it!

We all like Star Wars here, but not sure we're uber fans or anything. We will go see the movie I'm sure on opening week at some point. I don't really want to go on the first weekend because I don't love a packed movie theater. I'm not sure if we'll take the kids with us or not yet. It might just be my hubby and I.

OMG. That is great. My daughter bought the 3-foot Chewie for herself so she could snuggle with him when she broke up with her last boyfriend. LOL.

I was excited to find a car window decal for her that says "Pass you, I will" and has Yoda's face. I also bought her a set of Darth Vader family decals for her car window. :) She's so hard to buy presents for because she doesn't really want/need anything, so I was happy to find those things because she would have never thought of them on her own. ;)

I do like Star Wars but I am not an uber fan. We have seen them multiple times though. I have wanted to buy the princess Leah buns for the cats, but hubby keeps voting me down. They may have to make their way into the house by paying cash next week when he is out of town though. I think we will go when the craziness dies down at the theater before we see it.

Star Wars is epic in our family. My 2 brothers and I are all Star Wars fans. I want nothing to do with Star Trek. Yuck! My brother has gone so far as to build a replica of Darth Vaders outfit to specification of the one he actually wore for the movies. He wears it every Halloween and people show up at the haunted house my cousin does every year so they can get their picture taken with Darth Vader. He even has the sound effects for the suit. He has been doing a Star Wars count down on his FB page. He is much more into it then I am I promise. I am excited but he is obsessed. He bought tickets to the movie the day they came out for him and my niece. Hopefully he wont wear his outfit to the movie LOL !!!
