We always go and get our tree on Thanksgiving night and I decorate all weekend (my own personal Black Friday, hehe). This year we were in California and my house has been so sad since returning :(

So, after work tonight I made everyone load up and meet me in at the lot! They had a tree chosen in record time and it is UP in our living room :woot

Now... the boxes of ornaments and decorations are still stored in the workshop loft and I will have to depend on my men to get them down tomorrow (night)... but this weekend (only a week late) I'll be ready for Christmas. :tree

Is your Tree up? Do you do the tree thing? Is it real or artificial? (notice I did NOT say fake, hehe) Do you have any "tree" traditions?

As always, photos get you bonus points!

Have fun decorating your tree this weekend Jen!

Ummm don't be disappointed in me but we aren't putting up a tree this year! We are going to be away from home and not back until 5 days before Christmas so we decided that because it is a REALLY big tree and takes all day to decorate and its HOT here and ..... well you get the idea. We will still decorate the dining table for the traditional cold ham and salad Christmas brunch so all is not lost! We will still have a little spirit :D

We also were traveling for Thanksgiving which has put me way behind. No tree yet - but hoping to get one tomorrow evening.

Still undecided whether to put tree up or not. We are away from the 17th but my duaghter and my son's girlfriend will still be here. i think I will leave the decision up to them, maybe just a very small one this time The worst bit will be coming home in January to find it all still up...

Have fun decorating, Jen!

My tree has been up since the week before Thanksgiving, but the only reason for that is because I bought a new one this year. We had a real tree until a few years ago and I can't remember now why we made the switch haha. I think just for convenience and being able to put it up whenever we want. I never wanted to put a real tree up too early because they always died on me. I hated the artificial tree we had and since my older kids have homes of their own now and can have whatever kind of tree they want, I went with one I'd been wanting for a couple of years...very thin, tall rustic looking tree from Hobby Lobby. My house is rather small, so for the first time in 20+ years, I didn't have to move seating out to make room for the tree! I love it.

This is the first year in at least 5 years that we will put up a full tree (artificial). The holidays have not been very merry at my house and it's been a struggle to at least put up a nativity set. We did have a little tree that had been discarded by someone (charity) for the last couple years. I'm was so excited that I had the mental energy and desire to put up a tree this year and then I got hit with a cold. So it won't go up as early as I want but it will still go up.
We also decided that since this had been a hard year and there will be lingering memories of the ex-daughter-in-law in some of our traditions and ornaments, that we would do something totally different this year. So I'm having a superhero tree (my oldest loves comic books). It's been a family project so it's been a good thing. Now to just get the energy to finish stuff up.

We always wait until after Thanksgiving. I have two trees - a 9 foot artificial and a 7.5 foot artificial that's flocked. My girls have little trees for their rooms too. My smaller tree was done on December 1st. I am still working on the big tree. I hope to finish up this weekend!

My tree is up and all the lights are on it (I bought more LEDs on Tuesday). So far it only has one ornament on it, a new one this year from a trip because I haven't got all the ornament bins out yet. But this Saturday, it gets done! We've already picked the theme so I know which boxes to get.

Wow you ladies are on the ball. My tree is not up and I havent even thought about it yet because I have no clue where I am going to put it. We have the treadmill out where our tree normally goes and my son is using it nightly to speed up on his running at school. We have to get that PE grade up because it is really bringing down his grade point average. Uggghhh. I literally have no where else to put it. I wish I could get away without putting it up but that wont happen. I might have to set it in the middle of the hallway LOL

Ours will go up this weekend, but I decorated the house last weekend. We have a 9' artificial tree - ever since DH did fire investigations he has banned all real Christmas trees.

We get a tree usually December 8th, lol!

We wait until my son's birthday is over (Dec. 7th) and then put the tree and the decorations up! We will probably go get the tree that night, get it in the house, and let it sit to warm up and open... then we will see about the ornaments! I'm not been in the spirit but getting there! We have always had a real tree.

I have an artificial tree up, this year I put it in the basement family room/play room and I'm planning on getting a real tree for upstairs. Hopefully this weekend I can make that happen!

Tree was up before we left for Disney. We usually put it up the weekend after Thanksgiving, but we were gone . . . and both my hubby and I wanted to have it done when we came back, you know, all exhausted and all.

Here's our tree:

We cant have real trees, but have made ours always look very pretty .... looking forward to tomorrow actually, it has been a while since I felt this good...lets hope my body still agrees tomorrow!!!

I decorated the kids' bunk bed in lieu of tree. We just don't have space. But they love having lights and ornaments on their bed. :giggle

OH, please tell us about the BOOKS under the tree!

First tree went up the day after Thanksgiving at our place in Michigan. It's where we'll spend Christmas break, so it's nice to have a tree up there. There's not a lot of space, so last year I bought one of those skinny pencil trees from Michael's. I nearly cried when we put it together... it was so SKINNY! It looks like a bottle brush! It's grown on me now and I love it... it's perfect for the space we have for it. I didn't get a full shot of it, but here's my page about decorating it...

We got back from Michigan on Saturday and on Sunday afternoon we put up our tree here at home. Another artificial one, pre-lit, supposedly. Last year the top third stopped working, so we put a string of lights up there. This year half of the bottom third stopped working. We just left it.

Here's our tree in Chicago...
