What a fun idea for a thread! I love reading through everyone's notes about how they found their way here!
I joined the forum in April 2013 because of Pick Your Prize for iNSD! I had only just discovered pocket scrapbooking & digital scrapbooking on Pinterest a month before. My first layout was for the July 2013 template challenge:
he he, So I have actually been scrapping with goodies from designers here for years, but I did not post until 2012 when we moved to Thailand, because we lived in Burma (MYanmar) before that ( since 2004) and the internet was horrid - OK, pretty much non existent at the time. I would buy and download goodies while on Visa runs in Thailand or Singapore, then play with them for the 10 weeks I was in Burma. So glad to have moved out to Thailand and have decent internet so I can meet all you gorgeous people.
Posted on October 7, 2011. I saw a CT call ad for Jenna Desai's team and applied, and that's what brought me to the Pad! The rest is history.
This thread is fun for so many reasons! I love seeing how personal styles have changed, how products have changed, how we've all evolved. It's also fun to remember so many of the designers who have since retired - anyone else remember Jenna? I miss her and her whimsical designs. I miss so many of those mentioned in this thread! I'm sure it's got a lot to do with the fact that it's late at night but I'm getting all nostalgic here and feeling oh so grateful to be a part of this TLP community! You all are awesome
My first was 10-17-12. I made a layout for a challengy by One Little Bird. I posted another layout that month and then a few over the next two years. In August of 2014, I started the M3 subscription and have camped at the pad since then.
The thing I notice the most about this first layout is NO SHADOWS. So glad I've improved in that regard.
this wasn't actually first, I had another one because when I came to be active in the forum, I disnt remember I already had an account so I made another, which Laura helped me merge when I first subscribed to the M3.... but here is the one that is now as first:
