I bet you didn't even notice I was gone! hahaha!

We went glamping for the weekend, unplugged as in (with spotty reception if you laid the phone near the side of the rv - squinted one eye, lifted your leg while the stars were aligned)
kind of unplugged! :ballonhang

There were 3 things I learned.

1. Shampoo can double as soap but not as lubricant for a squeaky door

2. Coffee at camp on the lake with a bonfire does taste better. Unofficially official

3. Dog food is not just for dogs, it can be used as catfish bait in the big metroplis of Munson - Population 364 Fact checker :attention I need a fact checker! I think that is an exaggerated number. There is a red light...well, it flashes.

We have officially retired our tents and bought a used smaller pull along rv - things are much nicer on the old bones. Anyone else here like to camp or glamp?

I missed you :flirty

I love camping/glamping but DH hates it, so we don't go very often at all.

Aw shucks, guerl :giggle

Yeah, I think it is some of our best sleep and time away. It is just so easy to do for us. I didn't want to come home, but glad I am heading back this weekend. :whistle:dizzy:imok

Welcome back!

I am not camper (think I could be persuaded to be a glamper!), but hubby took 3 of our kids camping while I stay with friends and the little one (16m and just up too early, too loudly, and too wriggly to want to try camping with him) - I think that was the perfect solution! The older kids had a fabulous time, hubby can sleep through anything and everyone was happy! :)

My only experience with camping was with cub scouts. I was definitely not a minimalist camper (that shouldn't surprise anyone), packed everything but the kitchen sink. I can see the allure of having heat/air conditioning and a real mattress, though.

Don't take this wrong -- no didn't miss you. Seems like I spent the whole weekend with you and your kits. I've been in a Danyale mood.

I am not a camper... but you could convince me to go out in an RV or something like that!

I need to have running plumbing and electricity to be comfortable. Any cool pics during the trip?

Yeah pics! Just letting you know I did miss you but not as much cuz your kits were in front of me.

I'm glad you didn't leave us for good! :D

I hate camping. Well, I hate "going camping" where the whole point of the thing is to be camping, but I'm open to sleeping in a tent/cabin/whatever when the real point of the trip is something else. Like a road trip or a festival or a trip to Legoland or whatever where you sleep in a tent to save money, that I can do. But if I'm just "getting away"? I'll take a cruise, please!

Love the idea of camping and did a lot as a child. BUT the whole toilet thing puts me off... I am a teeny bit phobic about sharing with people I don't know :scared I do, however, love the idea of heading off to the great outdoors in one of those huge RVs that you have in the States :thumbsups Don't ever see them here, I guess our roads are too small :giggle

We are definitely a family of campers. In fact, I just started scrapping our major camping trip from the first week of September this weekend and it was hard core. Like we went backpacking with our kids for the first time where we had to carry everything we needed on our backs. We filtered water from a stream and made freeze dried food. (pretty tasty actually). The kids loved it and we had a blast.

We started them early too. We took both of them camping the summer they were born. I think they'd both been camping by the time they were 2 months old. We had to get a bigger tent so our pack-n-play would fit in the tent. Lol! I do enjoy them at their current ages much more however! (9 and 11). I can see the use of having a small pop-up RV type thing, but we don't have anywhere to store it, so tent camping continues for us. We did upgrade to buying cots a couple years ago. I hate air mattresses and my old bones couldn't stand the ground anymore.

we love to go camping. every now and then in a tent. does a log cabin count as camping? with a refrigerator and dishwasher? probably.

Yes, those little ones - it did make it harder, but they loved it back in the day. I can completely relate

Our RV has it all AND the campsites we use have electricity/water. We are total glampers now. :giggle

Aw, what a sweet sweet thing to say :flirty I am glad you found time to play :stash - hitting the galleries/challenge threads today so I can see what I missed :heartslub

Yes! We just bought this from a friend of ours:

I had gotten that way with tent camping due to the days and days of prep, just kinda stunk in general. Now we will just leave all of our crap and be good to go anytime.

Me too! We have one in the rv we use at night but most of the campsites near us have facilities. We have the tinkle only rule, hahahaha!

Okay, you may be my new girl hero of the day - yep...you ROCK! I could probably do that once...maybe, hahaha! We have cots too for the tent, but they are all sitting in the attic this year.

It qualifies as glamping - my new thing. :fairydance

This was our view 24/7 of the lake

I missed yah gurl! I luv the view you had... so relaxing! And me... I'm not so much a camper, but have done it to make the daughter happy when she was younger. But, honestly... I much prefer a hotel. :-)

Oh my, what an incredible view! We used to camp a lot when my daughter (now 44) was a little girl. We had a pop up camper. My grandsons and my son-in-law as a leader, do quite a bit of camping with the scouts right now. Chase is still a Cub Scout, but his older brother as a Boy Scout goes once a month year round!

Glad you had a beautiful and fun weekend away! We DID miss you! :)

This is me and camping...

You were so missed!! Glad you are back!

I much prefer a hotel to a camper. Tents are not optional. :giggle

Ya know, I recall lots of camping growing up. We took several trips every year. We camped in tents with my parents in the wilderness. When we went with my grandparents, we glamped in a camper, usually at state parks. Looking back, I have lots of great memories. I honestly don' t think I could survive a tent camping trip now.
