NOTE: if you can watch the replay on Periscope, it'll be better b/c it shows the comments, etc... The YouTube video is just my side, so at times I sound like I'm talking to my imaginary friends :giggle

Do you Periscope? Have you heard of it? Well, it's new and shiny and kind of fun! Don't get me wrong, I can see where it can get a little overboard. Seriously, just like I am really not really interested in seeing your entire day in photos on IG, I certainly do not want to see it LIVE :giggle

However, it can be really cool. It's a way for us to chat, sort of. I will be videoing myself *EEP* and you can comment, weigh in, ask questions or just give me love :). All LIVE.

I will be Scoping TUESDAY, 10.13.15. at 11am EST.

In this 1st scope I'll be showing off my ATC/Lilypad Letter Book (and maybe some other stuff... but not much b/c I won't keep you long). So you will get to see art from lots of Lilypad Peeps! :beat

And if you miss is (or it's the middle of the night where you are), you can replay the broadcast for 24 hours after it ends. Now, you obviously cannot join in the interaction, but you can see what we talked about. Depending on how it goes, I may upload it to YouTube to view later as well... we'll see.

What do you need to do BEFORE the Periscope tomorrow?

1. Download the FREE Periscope App for Apple or Android.

2. Create your profile. It's linked already to Twitter, but if you don't have a Twitter account, you can still create a separate account for Periscope only.
(I can give more details on this if needed, but it's not hard)

3. Follow ME. Since I'll be the one doing this particular Periscope, you can follow me and get notified when it starts. Also, I'll try to figure out how to post the link in the forum and FB as well if you don't wanna follow me (no promises on that, LOL).

4. Hit play when we get started!

Now, full disclosure... this will be my 1st ever Periscope so I will really need someone to join me to see how the whole thing works! YAY for new things :woot

so...do I get it right when I think this is only for those who have a smart phone?
 
Jen I love the idea! Yay for the new things. I will have to check the time for Europe.
Cynthia, yes you'd need smart phone to download the application.
 
EDIT TO ADD: Some folks below have heard negative things about BlueStacks. I'm sorry for recommending if dangerous for the computer. Not worth the risk.

Cynthia, it is a mobile only app but I found a way you can use it on your computer.

You will need to download BlueStacks. I tried it and it works. It's good for Mac and PC. Looks like this...

I downloaded and opened. Then I had to set up Google Play (cuz I'm on a mac and never use that, hehe) and eventually got this screen.

I searched for Periscope and got the app. You will have to sign up at that point but it is supposed to be just like the app. I don't think it's as sleek, but it's a work around nevertheless.

Now, all that said... I will be posting a replay (I hope) from YouTube after the fact, so you can always watch it then, just won't be able to chat.

I thought Windows and Android were the same, LOL. And I remember Blackberry. I had a Blackberry! That keyboard was mega coolio.

It started as Apple only so I was happy to see them expand to Android so soon (even though I don't have an Android, I know many do). Sorry about the others, maybe you can use the computer app I found. Or the replay.

It's just for fun!
 
I will look so I can follow you... and then replay. I won't be able to watch live as I'm going to be working! Sounds fun!

Brilliant idea. I have a windows phone so might try the download for PC. Will have a play tomorrow. Will try my best to be there somehow or watch the video after. Such fun!!! :)
 
Jen, I think you are fabulous and would love to get this glimpse into your life and art, but I am going to pass.

I am at my limit with technology, time and activity. I'm trying to squeeze in time and energy to pursue my own painting interest and just don't want to introduce some other activity to crowd my poor creative mind. This is one of the reasons I haven't taken on the card exchanges. I just want to avoid spreading my creativity, energy and time too thin. I'm dedicated to digi scrapping and my CT responsibilities. BUT, I hope all of you will have a great time and FUN!!

I completely understand. Honestly, I sort of wanted to try out Periscope but felt too weird about posting silly things we are doing around here (who wants to watch me do laundry, LOL) and I totally wanted to show off the awesome ATC's everyone was making (stole that idea from Laura :flirty ) so VOILA... Bob's your uncle. :giggle
 
Very cool! I'll look forward to catching it after work. Wish I could see it live! It seems like the only live broadcasts I ever see are like doing laundry or teenagers goofing off LOL
 
I am penciling this in to see if I can configure this whole app thing out and watch it live! Wish me luck ::walks off to kick her smart phone:: :dizzy
 
Back again - that was sooooo easy peasy. I just downloaded the app and it automatically signed me in with my Twitter acct. Done! I will watch in the am, guerl! :)

It is okay if I share on my FB page and group?

Absolutely! The more the merrier. (plus, it may be awkward if it's just me, hehe). #iwanthearts

I may make it a (sort of) regular thing if folks like it. Just another way to connect!

It is easy peasy, especially if you already have a Twitter account. Now, to figure out the recording part... it looks super easy as well. Wish me luck :)

Don't want to put a damper on things,but be careful with blue stacks. It is fairly invasive and not easy to get rid of once you download it. Also it stops in the middle of things and demands payment or that you download 3 other apps to continue.
Apparent from that good luck Jen.
EDIT : I am talking about the free version of blue stacks. If you pay for the service it is probably different.

I'm on Mac also, but working with 2 EHDs and the computer is giving up ...so I thought I watch it after... also, I looked it up, says is compatible with iPad..... we have an iPad mini... which is on my name, has my twittwer and FB on but Sarita is using as her computer broke down before we left last year...... I maybe able to download there.... otherwise, next time, but I would love to see you live!!!!!

So fed up. Friends have warned about blue stacks and my laptop is winding down anyway so don't want to risk downloading. My phone is windows so doesn't support periscope...so not able to join you:cry But I def would have if I could. Good luck :beat
