I have just realized that I need a special Christmas folder,.
Yesterday for the challenge I just could not for the life of me remember the names or even the designer of the Christmas kits I own, my kits are filed by designer and site , with the result that it took me ages to search, because most kits don't have the word Christmas in them . ( or bauble or Santa for that matter )
I came to the conclusion that I do not own many Christmas kits ,and I better go shop... hrmm :whistle
when I got to the shop this morning quite a few had already purchased on them :blush Flurries by Amber, messy marvins and sprinkles , I had just forgotten what they were. I still shopped , and enjoyed it , but I am determined to make some type of Christmas folder.
Does that happen to you ? Do you have a fantastic system in place already ?

Nope, i went a searching as you did. I did paste all the 'document your december' in a word document.

I shopped too, but that too is confusing, not getting paypal info from my purchases.

I need help too

I also normally file my kits by store and then designer. But Christmas is the exception. I do have a special Christmas folder. Or for designers that I tend to buy more from I have more detailed folders inside the designer file - like papers, word art, etc and one of those is Christmas.

I would love to have things tagged, but so far, I'm too lazy for that. :)

I have a separate folder called "Project Life/Mouse/DYD" and within it there is a folder for "DYD/Christmas".

Then I have it even more divided like this:
*alphas
*extras
*JC
*kits
*numbers
*papers (only)
*projects (these are my specific projects that are in progress)
*wordart

It's one of my few folders that I will mix my designers/sites, but since I honestly have 90% TLP in my stash, it's not an issue.

This is why I tag! For a loooong time, the only tagging I did was on kit previews. It's really helpful! You don't even need special software to do it, if that's all your doing. In Windows, you can right-click any file in Explorer, go to Properties / Details, and type "Christmas" (or whatever you want) in "Tags" or "Comments". Then it will come up whenever you search for that word. Easy peasy. It's similar on MacOS. It's been a while, but I think it was command-I and then type whatever you want in "Spotlight comments" or something like that. It's probably changed, though. On a Mac, you can tag folders as well as files, but in Windows, you can't do folders.

not in windows 8, only can change date png or jpg was taken

I actually separate my kits and prods by theme ( I have a folder for Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Summer etc.) but I do tag the store in the preview so I can do an easy search.

Thanks Lorry , it is just the thought of having to tag everything . ... but as I get more and more kits, I should make it a point to at least tag the new stuff , that way it doesn't seem so bad.
I do tag the digi kits that I have go into the CraftArtist software folder, but I have stopped putting to much in there because I think it slows it down.
Normally I use the search in pictures ,and it works quite well using the designers own tags , but - not for Christmas.

humm... maybe it set up wrong, this i saved below, alows me to change, but nothing i have got else where. wierd

You cannot tag .png files, but you can tag the jpg files (which should cover the previews).

Yeah, I only tagged previews in Explorer. If you're going to tag everything, you'll probably be a lot happier with software that support tagging a lot better. I don't have Windows 8 on this machine but I absolutely did tag JPG previews in Windows 8 and 8.1.

I went thru and put dyd in front of some of my kits

Is everything in store under document your december - considered that, even though it just cordinates, with dyd ?
example
counting down: number tags
