The latest craze in my hometown is Break Out Rooms. If you're not familiar, the basic concept is that you're "locked" in a themed room with a group of friends or co-workers. You have an hour to escape using hidden items, following a trail of clues and solving puzzles. It's supposed to be a really challenging game and most of the rooms only have around a 25-30% success rate. Has anyone done this IRL? I've played some online versions and I am pretty excited to give this a try in person.

they did. It was a father's day excursion and they bought a groupon. The kids are high school and college aged.

Oh that's awesome!

My husband and I are going with another couple that are best friends of ours. We've already joked that we might have too many "alpha" personalities to be successful. We shall see!

I really wanted to do this in London but didn't manage to get a booking! It was like a.l.w.a.y.s. booked out...ALWAYS! no kidding! its really really fun and comes very highly recommended...A number of my friends did the London version and they had a blast.

Hope you have lots of fun...alpha personalities aside! lol :)

I've never heard of this before, but it sounds really fun! Can't wait to hear if you're able to get out. Lol on the "too many alphas" :giggle

Never heard of it. You will have to scrap about it when it is all over. :)

I've only heard of this as an app.... not as in real life! Sounds soooo cool! I can't wait to hear about how it goes!

Ok... that sounds a bit scary to me, LOL. I've never heard of it. Looking forward to seeing how it goes!

As I live in tourist central (Orlando), there is one here. I know my boss went with his high school aged son and friends. The kids had a great time, didn't break out but he didn't assist them either.

I have been wanting to do this for a while. Some of my friends from Alabama have been twice and they post photos at the end. It looks so fun. Hope you all enjoy it! I wish they would do this geared towards families with kids. My 7 year old loves to play these games on the iPad.

My son says they do this up at his college (Bama), but he has not gone yet. They talk about it like it is a lot of fun, and depending on the "host" of the ones his friends have attended (they are mostly engineers), it can be pretty hard. Didn't they do something like that on Big Bang Theory? Sheldon had something like that, haha!
