This week is spring break, we always go visit my parents for spring break... as in EVERY SINGLE YEAR since my son was in preschool. This year my daughter has a dance competition so we couldn't all go. My son, Alex (14), decided he still wanted to go spend the week with my parents. So, he flew down alone last Saturday. My parents know I do project life and they know it's important to me. Well... just now, my phone started lighting up with texts and I was getting a bunch of emails as well. My dad just sent me 30+ photos of their week so far. It's everything from actual sightseeing stuff they did, to candids of Alex shopping at the sporting goods store!! I just want to hug him!!! :wub

Awww.. I love this! That is super awesome! I hope they took a picture of them together!

Wow! That's amazing. Even if you didn't get to go you can still document it.
My husband is going to Dominican Republic soon to visit his mother and I am already training him about what photos he HAS to take for me. He hates pictures and taking photos but I want them as much for me as I do for him. I feel like I have to make a list for him so he'll remember. lol

Oh man, I'm jealous, I wish I could train some of the people in this family to be like that! Your Dad rocks!

I'm in a sappy mood right now because it really, truly got to me that he did this. Sometimes I feel like other people look at my project life pages (non-scrappers) and think it's silly to document such ordinary things every single week... but this just made me feel like he gets what I'm doing and why I'm doing it.

Yes! Lots of pictures of my mom and Alex that my dad took and lots of selfies of my dad and Alex. We bought my dad a selfie stick as an early birthday present and had Alex give it to him on his first day in Missouri. They used it to take a group selfie with my grandmother (Alex's great grandmother) on her 94th birthday on Sunday!!

Good luck with your husband Maribel! That sounds like a trip that you would definitely want documented. My husband is finally beginning to come around with taking photos when I'm not around... but it still takes quite a bit of prodding. The one I really have to work on is my son.

That is so awesome, Tracie! It sounds like your dad had more fun taking photos than you do!!! Did he just get a new phone or something & finally figured out how to use it? :)

^This. I keep telling my parents, "Just bring me a photo! Any photo! I can fix it if need be in Photoshop!"

He got his first iPhone :-) He's never had any kind of smartphone before. He has always loved to take photos, but didn't always have his camera with him... now it's with him all of the time!

that is so awesome! My mom wants to try and scrap pictures PL-style after seeing my past books. She has never done digi-scrap, but I told her PL-style was easy and she didn't have to use 'cutsie stuff'. LOL! She is not to tech-savvy, but I think she'll be okay.

It's just so cool when other people 'get it' and catch your vision!

Yay!!! That is the coolest!!!!!

Big smiles!!

My hubs can't take a decent picture to save his life. LOL. I signed us up for a photography class about ten years ago. We'd go out and take pics of the same thing, but his always looked awful. So when he goes across state to see our other grandson, I have to put up with blurry pics of Conan in various stages as he races around the hotel room. But at least it is better than nothing.
