Choosing the photos....

This is probably one of the hardest things for MOC. I do have collections set up in LR for 2BScrapped and I even have sub-collections for specific topics. I've only used a couple of those for MOC, though. It is not unusual for me to take a specific photo for a challenge. I don't have a ton of backlog, but I'm not in a phase of life with younger kids and outside activities. It's work, dinner, cats, messy kitchen . . .boring stuff.

I took a lot fewer photos in 2014 as I spent some time during my break getting them all collected and into my 2014 folder. I think this is partly because I'm not capturing photos as easily with my Galaxy phone as I could with my iPhone. (Something I didn't consider when I made the switch.) part of what I want to do more of in 2015. Hate dragging out my DSLR because it is a really old model and I have to use a USB cable to get the photos off of it.

I have definitely scrapped a particularly good photo more than once. When I do this, it is to tell a different story. So, if I have a really great picture of my daughter, I might scrap the occasion for which it was taken. Then later, I might use this same photo as I capture my thoughts on how proud I am of her, or a particular trait I admire, or . . . you get the idea.

love this last bit.... when you are in as many CTs as some of us here are....is difficult to have so many pics of only one daughter!!! LOL
Love thatr idea of using the photos to tell different stories/different angles of scraping!!!!!!

When in doubt, I use a cat photo... :rofl

Today's challenge was the longest I've spent looking for a photo so far- about 10 minutes. Normally, the challenge makes me think of a story or kit. I usually can recall a photo or photos I took and when, so I know what folder to find them in. I guess I have a photographic memory of photographs. I'm a photo finding ninja... :)

I scrap whatever suits the mood and will go back several years for a photo...if I have the motivation to hook up my external hard drive to retrieve the photo, lol!

The benefit of taking way too many photos, and having a larger family, is that I will always have one to scrap. I do have an idea of what I am looking for when I am thinking about a layout so that helps a bit. I get really annoyed with myself when I scrap the same photo more than once as I do print all of my pages but have no problem using a few different photos from the same event/activity/session and will also sometimes scrap a duplicate photo with a different crop if it conveys the meaning of what the layout is about. But I do not have my photos organized for scrapping nor do I scrap chronologically.

me too - everything except the large family

Yes, this too (as in today's challenge and out of bounds challenge), but lucky I have 2 little ones (okay they're growing but still young) and one grumpy old one to choose from.

I never have a shortage of photos...I have oodles of digital and even some old scanned in ones. I don't have an abundance of time to scrap with four little boys so I try not to do the same pic twice :) I am not so good at getting things printed and for a long time just scrapped one photo here and another there but I will never have enough for a book! So, I scrap in books now. I am almost finished by oldest's first year book and am currently working on my Hawai'i vacation from last April. I then go through and decide on what pages I want to create, put that in a spreadsheet, put the photos into the corresponding pages folder and scrap from my list. I try really hard to make a challenge or a kit work with my list. I've gotten a ton done on that Hawai'i book this month! Sometimes I have to get creative to fit them into the challenge or kit but I'm good at creative explanations :)

I tend to scrap pics from the last few years as I've got them in folders by date on my hard drive. Other than that I just hunt and pick.

I go for certain photos - but for Anne's I could not find the one I wanted, so I went with another, but I am still looking for that one so I can try this method on it!
