Monday! What's your week look like?

We are playing Hookie tomorrow... we are calling it "religious day" and staying home. Tomorrow is 3 Kings day and we like to celebrate it together all day long, so we are staying home... no work or school for us!!!!!

Well considering it's 12:37AM, Monday is now history - but - what a day from he$$ it was for me!! :thumbsdowns

I am a shift supervisor / manager at a large distribution center - working 2PM until midnight. I got a call bright and early Monday from my manager - stating we are going from a 3 shift operation down to a 2 shift operation - effective 1/14/15!! (He wanted to give me the heads up in case I 'heard it through the grapevine' before I came in ... we were in meetings the first few hours once I got to work). We are reducing workforce by 24 full time associates - increasing the workforce by 24 temporary associates (never a good thing) - cutting lead positions and one supervisory position. Talk about stressful!!

1 1/2 years ago we were sold off from the parent company we'd been with forever, to an investment firm. So things have slowly been changing over the course of a year. Last January we had a reduction in workforce, based on performance. It was awful. Having to sift through files and files and hand out notices and give severance packages - however; because of the legal clause, this was done under out "old" company - so at least the severance packages were decent. Then we went from having zero temporary workers to 120+ in 2 weeks in July. Another nightmare. (I live in a small rural area, so the temp pool is not great). And now - this big news. 24 heads to be cut strictly based on tenure with the company. And the packages they are being offered are a JOKE! Talk about people that are getting screwed over!! My heart is breaking! We will be losing a lot of great people - good workers!! I am dreading next Wednesday when we will have to give them their packages and walk them out the door.

Sorry this is long - but I really needed to vent!! (And now I think I need a teeny tiny cocktail and then will call it a day!) ... Night!!https://the-lilypad.com//www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/

Oh my goodness! That really does sound so awful and right after Christmas. Yikes! I hope that everyone takes is well and the adjustments to more temp workers goes okay for you. That sounds incredibly stressful. I hope that you can find some time to hide with your scrapping and just forget it all for a few minutes!

Wow, Jill - hoping it goes as smoothly as possible for you. Must be so hard for those affected. :( I was laid off one year in February, and it was hard.

Laura, hoping all was ok at the Dr. Fingers crossed. I give you kudos for the school projects. I shy away from all those people and the actual responsibility - I think I'm afraid of failing and an unsuccessful event.

Cynthia - Hoping all goes well! I would love to have a few back up meals pre-made/frozen! I'll have to look some up!

2014 ended on a tough note, and it's all starting to get sticky and worse now. I thank goodness for my creative outlet. And with all that is going on - I've scrapped pry about 7 pages already this year. That is a record... though they are all single pages verus souble pages. That's ok... I think it's helping me deal. DH's mom was diagnosed with Colon Cancer, and has surgery on Friday. DH is traveling to FL, and I'm sad in general. Will keep my head up, and fingers crossed all goes well. They will then share the stage after surgery (I think 4-5 days after test and such). It's just harder since she is in FL and we are in NJ. She doesn't want to come up here, where honestly, I think some of the hospitals are better than the ones near her. Ugh.

On top of that, we started school back, and getting back into the routine is a good thing, I just dislike homework. :)

good luck to Sarita, Cynthia! Feel better Debra ... hope you get that "me" time in SF (and that baby boy starts to feel better soon!). And Jill ... wow, that is stressful. Not a good Monday at all ... so sorry you have the burden of that bad news to deliver.

Good luck LaurA - hope the lil ones tests come back with an all clear.

For us we are sill settling down in Mx City :) so it's finding a school this week for DS who is going nuts and driving me nuts at home! Lol :)finding a spanish class for me coz I don't know a word!! Ok... So have learnt few since I landed ! :) attending Amber's chat today and lots n lots of MOC scrapping! :)) I love being off work!! :) yep... Showing off just a lil bit :))

Hoped she feel beter soon! Here my girls are back to school and my husband back to work after two weeks holiday, so for me quiet time, cleaning the house and me-time finaly!

All quiet here so far this week, I have done my two days of work and now it back to finishing the week on a lazy note (that includes some scrapping I think!) ... hope you all have a wonderful week!
