Are you good about putting gas in the car, or do you wait until it's on fumes? I'm the latter. I'm horrible. I swear my car is on E more than not. It's even worse now that I have a smaller crossover with only a 12 gallon tank instead of the van with 18. When the 'low fuel' light came on in the van, I had a couple days and could make dh do it. In the Rav 4, it means GET GAS RIGHT NOW. Ugh. Hate getting gas. :giggle

Ha, I thought I was going to have to admit how unhealthy my lunch was today, but you mean actual FUEL. :giggle
I don't have a car, so :whistle

i hate pumping gas-- especially when it is cold and windy. I hate how my hands smell like gasoline and I'm always paranoid that I'll over fill the tank and have fuel spill out. So, I am always driving around on fumes and hoping that DH will fill the tank up.
The closest gas station is nice and new-- and seems to be pretty well lit and safe so that was a relief when it was built, but now I've heard that lots of credit/debit card numbers are being stolen and sold there so I am not comfortable going there.
My grandmother refused to pump gas. She was a LADY and ladies DID NOT pump gas she said. So, she always did full service. I don't think there is a place here that even offers full service anymore.

When my hubs and I were courting, I asked him for two things I never wanted to do. Take out the garbage and put gas in the car. I realy don't like these tasks. I have put in gas maybe twice in almost 25 years, and the garbage, I have pulled it out of the can, but never carried it to the dumpster! lol Now we have kids who do both chores!
for the record, he only asked that I would buy Jif Peanut Butter crunchy always. I have!

I wait until they little message center is like "no seriously. LOW FUEL." I hate pumping gas, too.

i grew up and lived a good part of my life in NJ where you are not allowed to pump your own gas. now that i'm in NY, i actually like doing it myself ... no waiting for the "pump man/woman" when the gas station is busy and he/she is filling like 3 or 4 cars at once. that always drove me nuts, to sit there for an extra 5 minutes when i knew my car was done! i almost always fill up when i see i am at 1/4 tank ... but DH is good at filling it whenever he takes my car.

Gas in Montreal is one of the most expensive in North America, and for some reason although they claim its not fixed - every gas station suddenly raises the gas prices by 10 or 15 cents a liter over night. To combat this crazyness we have a web site called Montreal Gaz Buddy which will spam emails (if you subscribe) letting you know the gas will go up overnight. Frankly I could care less for all this nonsense (I do not subscribe) and I hate pumping gas - but with three men in the family driving I generally get three phone calls reminding me to fill up on my way home... Its all very annoying..

My grandmother had gloves just for pumping gas. They had jewelry and painted nails drawn on and had lace trim. This made is acceptable for a lady to do it. I smiled and nodded.

when it's really cold out I will make sure there is gas in the car however, when it's warm I have been known to drive with my little gas pump lit up. I live close to work so I will drive like that for a couple of days, when the car no longer tells me how many km's I have left then I figure I should throw some gas in.

I don't mind pumping my own gas and fill up when I am at Costco...which seems to be twice a week these days with the holidays! I make a point of filling up there as it is 70 cents a gallon cheaper there then in my town. Really, anywhere outside my town is significantly cheaper so I make sure to plan a fill up when I am out and about.

Usually let mine get below 1/4 tank and it just drives DH absolutely bonkers!!!! He keeps telling me that 'Your car will drive just as good on a full tank as it will on less than a 1/4'! Yea, Yea, Yea.....blah, blah, blah! I gots things to do! Ain't NoBody Got Time for That! :D

Omg, I do that all the time Angie. Here in Thailand I hate getting gas. It is always full service, which I don't mind, but I have to give instructions in THAI and I am obviously getting the tones wrong because every time I order gas the young men there give this snicker and shake their heads. I just know I am saying something vulgar, but I have asked my language teacher and she says it is fine. But I am always embarrassed so I put it off as long as possible.

I don't have to fill up very often thankfully. We live a quarter mile from work and the kids' school is only about 1.5 miles away. Plus, when I do get low on gas, I just mention it to my hubby and he'll usually fill me up later that same day. He gets rewards cash on his credit card that he gets to keep as play money and usually gas stations are 5% back. He loves to spend money on his card! :)

Ours was me (jokingly) saying I couldn't marry him because he didn't like mushrooms. He said "mushrooms would be a small price to pay" and he's eaten mushrooms every time I've wanted them for the last 11 years. Once he called me when I was in Florida and was like "I can't figure out why I just ordered mushrooms on this pizza..." :rofl

It's like a fun game to see how much of the reserve gallon I can use up. Yesterday I was able to put 12.5 gallons in my 12 gallon tank. Not bad, but I've done better. When the car says I have "0 miles remaining" it gets pretty exciting.

My old Jeep went to zero but my current one doesn't. It was much more thrilling getting to zero! Now mine starts nagging me at about 60miles to go, but once the DTE gets around 30 then it just says LOW FUEL all in caps like that. Then it's a fun little "how many days has it been at that stage?" sort of game.

:rofl That's hilarious!
Also, mmmmmmmm mushrooms.

I hate filling my gas tank! Thankfully there is a full serve gas station that I have to drive by everyday. But it still doesn't stop me from waiting until the last minute. lol! AND my tank always seems to be on E when I'm on call.... ugh.
