I wonder, do you gals throw yourself a party? For birthday or any celebration.

When you are divorced you even have to buy your own Christmas presents! I imagine it's the same for parties.

Nope. My hubby tried and tried to get me to let him do a birthday party for me this year since it was the big 4-0 and I told him I didn't want to celebrate. Lol! Part of that was timing since I was busy the weekend of my actual birthday (went to a crop).

I don't think there's anything wrong with throwing yourself a party though. If you feel like celebrating something and have friends who like party too... bring it on! :)

well I am throwing a little shindig,(ABOUT 150 PEEPS) the night before my birthday and jokingly told everyone it is a surprise party for me. They do this real nervous laugh...and then walk slowly away.
The party is after church (we do them often), and just cause...but my birthday is the next day...
I told my pastor, not to let me in on the surprise part..cause I will pretend to be surprised! He said I was creepy (in a fun way) and I thanked him!...bhahhahaHA

for me ... its a party when everyone leaves and gets out of my house! so no, i don't throw myself parties but don't see anything wrong with it. ;)

Not really but I have told folks that if they want to see me then "I'll be partying at...." Then if they show fine and if they don't that fine too!

I'm not real big on parties for myself, DH on the other hand wants his birthday celebration to last the whole month. :giggle

I've never thrown a party for myself and in general am not crazy about parties. I prefer smaller get-togethers where you know everyone and can all chat together. We always combine my b-day with my SIL's b-day as we're a week apart. So, today, for my b-day I'm carrying on as usual, going to zumba and then grab some take-out for dinner. We'll celebrate with a dinner out with family next wk.

Yet another reason why I love you Anne!

I don't throw myself a party - my sisters + parents do - but just immediate family.

However, I am taking 10 kids to a Trampoline Park tomorrow night to celebrate my youngest child's birthday (we're celebrating a little early to avoid the Christmas rush). I think I might need a drink afterwards! 90 minutes of jumping fun followed by 30 minutes of sugaring them up with cupcakes and pop, then sending them home. It should be a lot of fun!

I don't. But I think I might at some point. Just so I can get all of my favorite things and favorite peeps together. :) My mom's b-day is four days before mine, so it is usually all about her when we have a family get-together.

My 6yr old insists we have pizza & cake for my birthday. I take him shopping & he picks out plates & napkins. This year I made myself a butter pecan ice cream cake with a white cake bottom. It was so good!

I'm not a party girl wouldn't want all the attention but do enjoy going to others parties and getting to eat birthday cake yum!

No, not directly. I like parties thrown for me so I usually have to drop very "subtle" hints to him. ;)

My idea of a great birthday is to curl up on my couch with a book and a bottle of wine (opps glass!) with my family waiting on my every wish ..... not a huge fan of parties ... I'm with Jenn, the best bit is when they all leave :giggle
