M3 Aug Challenge #4 - Negative stamping

Just had to try again, and was determined to use the CraftArtist program , just to see if it could be adapted to this technique , it can ,but it is a lot easier in photoshop. I am not too happy with it, but her goes:.( For anyone with CA layer 1 background -layer 2 embellishments- and on top a material,-layer 3 use the bottom option under the layers tab and add a mask layer, - layer 4 add your stamps on top of what ever you want to reveal. layer 5 anything on top of the masked layer that has to show. )
Using the way I did the first one , and then not adding a shadow, gives a similar effect, and is easier . (the bird in the journal card is made that way.

wOw wOw wOw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
these pages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vivi, I did something similar with one of the leaves, just used it as a mask on top of the zentangle element....
Did you see Craoft Artist 2 is at £2.99? 5 dollars or so, not even that....
I honestly cannot deal well with PShop....it frustrates me kkkkk

Not sure why, but when I went to make this it came out in simple form. Guess this is where I am today!

Fun challenge! I layered the lighter paper overtop the orange background paper and at the bottom cut out a jagged circular shape. I stuffed wordart and stamps in a layer in between.

Oh my gosh, this is a new technique for me but I'm delighted to give it a try. I'm on PSE, so hoping the directions will work on it, too. Thanks for the challenge.

Update: I tried it and it WORKED easily and beautifully!

Here is mine... this is a big struggle for me, but I like it. So much blending, lol! Thank you for the challenge Lynne-Marie!

These pages are absolutely stunning!! I want to comment on them all in the gallery... *sigh* someday I'll have time to comment on all things in the gallery. (not going to hold my breath). I use this technique a lot... but for whatever reason, I'm struggling with it today. I'll revisit in a couple of days and hopefully get something posted here.

This was so much fun... I used Jaime's page masks to stamp out pieces of the 2 background papers I chose ... one blue and one creamy... I think it ended up looking pretty cool :)

Yea! I learned a new technique. If you look closely, you'll see the girl peeking out on the right side. Thanks for 4 great challenges - I can't believe I did all four!

In a bit of a sad mood as I worked on this challenge. That's one of the things I love about art journaling, it works for every kind of mood.

Vivi (and Cynthia) - This is how I achieved this in CAP2:

Background layer
Layer 1, 3, 5.. - embellishments that you want to reveal
Layer 2, 4, 6.. - material, add stamps and use the 'erase' blend mode on them

Hope this helps x
