I tried a smart phone, with a way cool swipe screen. My daughter put all my contacts in it for me.
I hated it! I went back to my old phone! yeah!
I really really want this phone:

What would you like from the "olden" days!?!?:giggle

I love books. LOVE them. But I am strictly an ipad kindle reader now. Sometimes I get a longing for a real paper book but the download instant gratification wins every.single.time.

Anne, what about beepers? They were very popular when I was in high school but I never needed one!

I still have an old princess phone up on a shelf in my house. Now that I think about it, it's not THAT old...:giggle

I actually started reading a real book from the library last night. If I never think I'll re-read the book, I have a tough time spending $10 on an ebook.

Shoulder pads. Remember how much smaller they made your waist look?

Yes , together with a circular cut skirt that made your bum small and your hips swing !

I detest wall phones with the touchpad in the receiver, who can dial numbers without double checking ???

what do I miss from the 'good old days'? I am going to say hairspray.......you know the stuff that you could go out in a windstorm with and not a hair be out of place.

I was in high school in the early-mid 80s and also vividly remember shoulder pads, big purses, plum blush and dial a lash mascara :)

Oh my goodness Anne! We had that exact same phone in olive green in my parents house forever! Even long past when people started getting cordless phones, they kept that wall phone with a really long cord. I kinda wish they still had it. It was on the wall in the kitchen and I can remember talking on that with my friends and being all wrapped up in the cord. LOL!

I miss the the gas prices of my high school days. I remember paying 79-99 cents a gallon! And I'm not that old!

I miss cheap gasoline (99 cents/gallon when I graduated from high school).
I miss the innocence of childhood... it isn't like that any more.
I miss buying a pack (5 pieces) of Juicy Fruit for 10 cents!!

When I was a teenager I had my own phone line in my room, but only had cable in the living room. So I bought all these extenders and extra long cords so that I could bring my phone down to the living room. Taught me valuable life hacking skills that my nieces will never know! LOL!!!!

hmmm what do I miss from the good old days? Record players!! Nothing sounds better than scratchy vinyl!

Love it!!!! :giggle:giggle :whistle

Mix tapes. I miss them with a vengeance.
i don't so much miss the heartache of seeing my tape deck had chewed my painstakingly made mixed tape... and then sitting there with a pencil through one of the holes, trying in vain to wind yards/metres worth of shiny black ribbon back on.....

incidentally - phonewise, i have a mobile/cell that isn't connected to the internet and i still have this corded, backlit button phone stuck to my computer desk , just as a back up for when the cordless dies but it's handy when i'm scrapping and someone rings, i don't really need to leave the desk

i can't think of anything really that i'd bring back that's not already trendy again - neon/fluro colours, the smurfs and TMNT already made they're comebacks
